Boys secondary school backpack

Along the lines of the other thread but for boys please. It’s just someone mentioned seeing what other people were using for transition days and I hadn’t thought about bags yet.

I’ve heard Jansport being recommended a lot over the years so was leaning towards those. The Nikes and such look like they’ll be torn up and worn out in a couple of months use.

Nobody can tell you what the bag fashion at your school is going to be because it varies so much. What is top pick at one school is a no-no at the school down the road,

You have to get ‘eyes on’ and they say in Line of Duty to actual kids at the school .

You can’t really go wrong with black and Nike having said that. But anything else needs to be seen in your own native habitat!

Both of mine have had North Face backpacks through secondary. My lower sixth child is on his second so they seem to have lasted fine.

Nondescript is the word I’d use from those I’ve seen. Maybe the plain black Nike is the way to go.

My ds had a variety of adidas backpacks throughout secondary school. They lasted well

Herschel and Eastpak tend to last - loads have Nike or north face as well

Mine has a dark blue osprey. Pretty non descript, but his school don't seem to be too obsessed with brands (and he really isn't). He wanted something that works practically with spaces for his stuff - especially when he has to take pe kit on same days as packed lunch!

Ds started out with a plain black Nike as I had seen other boys walking to school with the same one. I said I would happily buy him any other bag once he was in school if he wanted to change it. To be fair he ended up with a non-brand laptop backpack as it was padded, breathable etc and he still uses the Nike one for other things over 10 years later just not after year 7.

The school children at his school did not seem obsessed with branding, people actually prefer making their bag a little different rather than conforming.

Black!

Add a couple of coloured zip pulls as a discreet way to identify in a pile of all similar bags.
