Hairdressers help!

I've lightened my hair for well over 15 years - not using foil but straight onto the scalp.
I'm lucky as my hair has maintained a really good condition and it's thick.
I decided I wanted a more natural sandy blonde so went to the hairdressers and paid well over £100 for her to dye my hair a darker shade of blonde. It's like a dark ash now.
Anyway this was 2 weeks ago. I've washed my hair about 5 times since (I can't wash less as I regularly go to the gym!) and it's faded SO much. The ends are almost what they were before.
I use a sulphate free shampoo and conditioner.

I don't know what to do! I feel like I've ruined my hair. If I colour the roots and lengths again will the colour last longer? Or am I going to be in a position where my colour lasts two weeks?!

Hair stylist has said it's normal to fade and probably because I had lightened hair before.

No advice but when i went from being almost platinum blonde to being darker mine also faded after a few washes for the first few colours, each time i had it done it held longer and longer. I also find the colour wow products to be really good for protecting colours.

I assume the colour came mainly from toner, so buy a toner in the shop.

(I’m not a hairdresser but have had every hair colour under the sun (except green) so have some experience)

Thank you! This is what I was wondering... if I recolour it at home again will it last longer and longer each time?
I've never died my hair darker, I just wasn't expecting this!

Thank you!
It was a "permanent" hair colour!!

I think as others have said, when your hair is really porous it takes a few goes. I’d just use toner in the meantime

You need to use semi permanent. The way the molecules grab is different.

Thank you all!
Is it not going to be really h healthy for my hair to keep colouring the ends? I'm used to just doing the roots.
Although, it's not like it's bleach!

Semi perm won’t hurt it. If anything it will help by filling the gaps in the hair shaft which have been created by the bleach.
