Eye primer for mature eyes

I love eyeshadow but am fighting a losing battle with my increasingly crepey eyelids. I have tried various primers in the past but have found it difficult to blend tbe eyeshadow. Maybe something I’m doing wrong?
Anyway am willing to try primer again so would appreciate some recommendations. Google research suggests Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Anti Aging, but I have tried an Urban Decay eye primer in tbe past and didn’t like it. It’s on offer in Boots at the moment but still £18, which I don’t want to waste.
I would appreciate all recommendations, but please specify if you have found it useful for older crepey eyelids.
Thank you.

After I've applied my foundation I use what is barely left on the brush over my eyelids, seems to do the trick. Maybe an eyeshadow stick would be better?

Can you still ‘manipulate’ the eyeshadow on the foundation? I’ll give that a go but not sure if it will help with the crepiness ?
I have a Laura Mercier eye stick which works well normally as a base and smooths out tbe eyelid but doesn’t have any staying power in the heat, hence thinking about a primer again. But I will try both your suggestions together (foundation then eyestick on top) to see if this works before I spend on a primer. Thank you!

Primers don't help with creepiness they just help the shadow last longer.

Ah ok, I am sure I saw a thread on here a while back suggesting it did, which is why I was considering trying one again, so I’m glad you’ve said that, saved me waiting any more time or money on it, thank you!

Re: helping with the crepeyness - My tip would be to stay away from any eyeshadow that is remotely light reflective. Matte all the way.

So many eye shadows have a slight shimmer. Including many of the ones which say they're matte !

Best way to buy somewhere you can physically test.

Urban decay do some lovely matte pallets. Pricey though. I found a dupe for them on Amazon for a quarter of the price.

I'd be bathing in buckets of it if it did that 🤣

I ditched the eye shadow. It just isn't a good look on crepey lids. I switched to liquid eye liner instead. game changer for me.

Same here. I went for a face treatment and makeup session recently and the therapist basically up on the eye shadow 😂I am a little crepey and my eyelids disappear when my eyes are open. She put gel liner on the underside of the upper lashes , I instantly looked a lot better! I just need to practice, keep poking myself in the eye 🙄
