Rhinoplasty in the UK

Hi - has anyone had rhinoplasty surgery in the UK?

If so, where did you go and who was your Surgeon?

Also, anyone heard if Pall Mall Medical in Warrington is a trusted surgery?

Thanks 😊

Hi OP,

I have had rhinoplasty in the UK. It was done by James Murphy of Manchester Plastic Surgery. I paid £8k and tbh I wish I hadn’t have bothered. I had to have a revision surgery a year later and although it is slightly better, I am not over the moon with it and it was such a lot of money. I think I was just unlucky as I’ve seen other work by him and thought it was great.

A few years before I had my surgery, I had a consultation at Pall Mall Manchester with Mr Raghavan but never went ahead with him at the time because I wasn’t financially ready but he is an ENT specialist also and I’ve seen some amazing results by him. I wish I had chosen him now but I can’t turn back time unfortunately 😅

@JimStirlingsPenisTransplant I’m so sorry you didn’t get the result you wanted. Would you have a further revision? Would you mind sharing what you recovery was like?

Dr Ullus Raghavan is who I have my consultation with next month but wanted to get a few opinions before making the final decision of who to go with. I definitely don’t want to go Turkey too many horror stories from ops abroad as the price is what’s the most attractive.

@BeeBeautifulll hmm sometimes I think about another revision, but it’s just more money and if I’m not totally happy after that then I’d be gutted 😅 I think the more work you have done, the skin or cartilage or whatever it is can start to collapse so I wouldn’t wanna risk a third rhinoplasty for that reason either.
I think I’ve just learnt to accept my nose now. I definitely don’t worry about it as much as I did pre-rhinoplasty.

Recovery was actually not bad at all. The only thing I found difficult was sleeping as you have to be propped upright basically so it was hard to get a good nights sleep. I had black eyes and swelling which faded by end of the second week. Cleaning it was a bit of a nightmare, there’s a lot of dried blood to get rid of, I was given saline solution to spray up there to clean it out and just clean nostrils with cotton bud. The removal of the stitches hurt ever so slightly but more like a sharp scratch.

I would definitely see how you feel after your consultation with Mr Raghavan- he was lovely from what I can remember and not pushy at all, unlike some other places Transform.

BeeBeautifulll · 17/06/2025 19:43

@JimStirlingsPenisTransplant yes there is that. I guess you learn to accept it?!

How long do you have to sleep upright for? How long did you have your cast on for?

Yes I will see how I get on. It’s such a big procedure and I just want to find the right surgeon for the job. Thanks for taking the time to reply :)

@BeeBeautifulll I slept upright for two weeks but even after that, I was conscious of drifting off and turning over in my sleep and perhaps hitting my nose so I could never fully relax into a good sleep for a while tbh.
I say ‘upright’ but really it was just being propped up by lots of cushions behind the head and neck so not fully straight upright but I normally sleep on my front so it was a nightmare for me 🤣

I had the cast on for two weeks, then went back and the nurse removed it and took all stitched out. My cast had started to become lose anyway and lost its ‘stickiness’ after about 10 days

BeeBeautifulll · 17/06/2025 20:36

@JimStirlingsPenisTransplant omg I hate sleeping on my back I’m a side sleeper! Wow - weeks is a long time for the cast to be on for? I was under the impression according to a lot of TikTok videos it comes off after like 7 days? I have a lot to learn still. Did you have a lot of pain post surgery ?

I just checked my photo album and the cast was removed after a week and not two, not sure why I thought it was that long.

I actually didn’t have much pain- took paracetamol just to be on the safe side when I could feel abit of pain and it would do the trick. But mainly it was just uncomfortable rather than painful. I wear glasses/lenses and couldn’t have my glasses on because of the cast but my eyes had swelled up it was hard to put lenses in so I was basically blind a lot too 😅 And lots of breathing through the mouth so mouth was dry- make sure to keep dehydrated with lots of fluids.

When I look back at the photos I took for the few days after, I look truly awful and like I should be in real pain but for me it was genuinely a fine recovery.

@JimStirlingsPenisTransplant thank you so much for sharing your experience with me.

My daughter had her nose changed 5 years ago at the Cadogan Clinic in London.
Mr Mark Solomos was her surgeon and was amazing!

He did exactly what she wanted and he was conservative not crazy!

Her nose is really natural looking, pretty and it instantly increased her confidence.

@Verbena17 thank you

Prof Jarrod Homer has an excellent reputation and works out of several greater Manchester private hospitals, as well as Manchester royal infirmary. I've seen him for septal ulceration following incorrect prescribing of a cream that almost perforated my septum.

I did a lot of research before deciding on him. I saw him at Wilmslow hospital.

It was many, many years ago now that I had mine. Probably about 25 years ago so can’t help on surgeons.

However, the op and the recovery was much easier than I expected. And the bandage came off much sooner than I expected.

the swelling really does take a long time to go down, I’d say it took well over a year. The swelling wasn’t really an issue for me though, I was happy with how it looked immediately.

my nose was originally very thin and narrow, with a bent bridge and also a bit of a hook. So I actually liked the wider look and didn’t realise at the time it was mostly swelling.

Once the swelling went down, my nose was slimmer, but not as thin as it had been before, which was happy about.

I don’t remember the cleaning and the dried blood as it was so long ago, but i remember being surprised with how easy it all was.

agree with pp that sleeping propped up was the hardest part.

All in all, very happy with it.

Hi @BeeBeautifulll, I was wondering if you went ahead with your surgery and whether you are happy with the results? Thanks
