Help! Any idea where I can get women's boxer shorts/french knickers that are 100% cotton?

I've been getting recurrent thrush, and in desperation have taken to wearing DH's cotton boxers cos they're nice & loose & help solve the problem. But . . . I'd really like something a bit more girly (and DH would like his back). Any ideas - they need to be cotton and not too expensive as I could do with a few pairs.

Do you mean woven cotton, or cotton jersey?

Gap do nice loose boxer-short type thingies that are actually meant to be worn as pajamas. Depends what you're wearing underneath - they'd be fine with a loose dress or baggy trousers.

snowleopard · 21/05/2008 22:16

I mean wearing them underneath!

snowleopard · 21/05/2008 22:17

mmm lovely, I fancy these meself]

That's the US site but you get the idea.

Takver · 21/05/2008 22:17

Aha - lots of nice ideas - many thanks mildmanneredjanitor. Any sort of cotton or cotton jersey would be fine, just not artificial fibres. And I'll have a look at the gap ones too - DH's are pretty baggy & they go fine under my work trousers & overalls (I've been wearing my normal knickers for looking smart!)

Hey - the green spots are cool. That's exactly the sort of thing
Perhaps I should get DH some new boxers from Gap too!

Have you had a urine test recently Takver? Recurrent thrush can sometimes be a sign of sugar in the urine. You can buy dipstick things from the pharmacist to check.

spirit of nature bit ££ I think though.

You would be suprised at what Primark may have.

I got a lot of undies there, some shorts, after I had DD as I wanted something cheap that I didn't care about for hospital and the few weeks after. I didn't then get upset when they got messed up and I had to toss them when ready for regular undies! So maybe check out Primark?

Topshop does girl boxers which are about £4 each (three for £9 sometimes). They're 95% cotton, 5% elastane and have been a revolution, underwear wise, to me. They're amazing

bigspender30 · 22/05/2008 20:11

Good old M & S. They are called boy shorts or something and a multipack costs a fiver for 4. All sorts of colours and all cotton.

Takver · 22/05/2008 20:22

Hey, result! I went into Peacocks today & they had some (not a thing last time I looked), three pairs for a fiver. I might try & see if I can get some Topshop or M&S ones too though as the Peacocks ones aren't quite as loose as I really wanted. Hopefully I'll be going to visit my mum shortly & can go for a trawl round the shops you've all suggested in the big bad city I'm still tempted by the spotty gap ones - I can see a great underwear drawer coming on.
