just been and bought one today, sister recommended getting one, so whats the verdict on them? I have read some things in glossy mags and they always seem to rave about them, are they really that good

i bought one but have been too scared to use it! it seems really stiff and i think it will hurt.

castille · 21/05/2008 21:09

I bought one recently and don't feel brave enough to use it that often because yes it does hurt a bit.

But my skin feels so soft afterwards, it's almost worth the pain

it doesn't hurt, it makes you tingle, and lovely and soft afterwards.

Too early to decide whether they have an effect on cellulite etc, but mine has worked wonders in making my skin soft. Now a big fan. Yes, it does hurt a bit, but you can take it easy - even with gentle strokes I can see the dead skin it is lifting off.

They're fab. Not convinced by the 'cures cellulite' claims, but they do give your skin a really good exfoliation. Body Shop do the best value and most effective ones IMO.

Just a word of caution - if you have varicose veins or any circulation problems at all - go VERY gently with them. There's no need to brush really hard; you get all the same lymphatic benefits with a gentle brush towards to heart. If you brush too hard you can stress damaged and delicate veins.
