Body moisturiser the absorbs super fast

I have a load of body creams etc that are mainly from Christmas gift boxes.

I like the smell of most of them but I hate how long they take to try in. I hate hate hate when my skin feels in anyway sticky before putting clothes on. After showers I often have to wait a good 15 minutes before I can put clothes on.

Any thing any of you lovely people have found that dries super quick?

You can rub the moisturiser onto your skin while it’s wet and then towel dry as normal. It’s much quicker and stops the stickiness. Perhaps it’s a bit wasteful, but if you’re not using the stuff you have right now, it’s being wasted anyway. Use the lovely moisturisers!

Superdrug do a body serum in their vitamin e range. Sinks in really quickly, I have it in my swim bag.

Bath & Body works lotions have always been my go to, they soak in very quickly and don't feel greasy, plus they smell incredible!

TheLongRider · 22/05/2025 14:03

It depends on the moisturiser and your skin type. I find lotions and creams with a high proportion of vaseline or petroleum tend to stay sticky on my skin. Oil or nut butter based cream and lotions dry in much faster on my skin. Also make sure you've exfoliated first. The product won't absorb as well on layers of dead skin.

My skin likes Rituals products, the dry body oil soaks in really quickly with a great scent and no stickiness.

Following with interest! I’d found a really good Garnier one, but it’s Yuka score is bad…

HolidayBrochure · 22/05/2025 14:10

Was about to say Garnier. What’s a Yuka score @SummerySunshine8?

GreyTS · 22/05/2025 14:12

That Dove cream/oil in a pink bottle dries super quick and it gives a v subtle shimmer so good for heading out the door in summer

E45 do a spray can of really light unscented lotion. It absorbs really quickly. 100% would recommend it- you give a light spray and then pat it into your skin. Brilliant to take on holiday and soothed light sunburn too.

I can answer with a lot of recent experience (whole body eczema flare up) on this subject. Aveeno.

IsItAllRubbish · 22/05/2025 14:27

I go for Nivea Soft every time! Works really well for hands and body. I don’t use it on my face personally.

Phunkychicken · 22/05/2025 14:34

Eucerin do a spray for seriously dry skin that you put on damp, find I can get dressed quickly with that. Though I don't mind feeling greasy but do hate feeling sticky so get quite rich stuff on the whole

pontipinemum · 22/05/2025 15:11

Thanks a mill everyone! I think I will try a spray one. I will use my more lux Christmas gift ones but maybe when I know I will have the time to sit around and dry. I just want to get better at moisturising daily

@PrettyPuss oh no. I get eczema really badly on my hands. It is so painful when it strikes, most creams feel like fire going on. It must be awful for your whole body

Yuka is an app which give products a rating based on the ingredients

Yes! It basically tells you about the chemicals in stuff and whether it’s fine, or not great.

I find it very good, it flags the bad chemicals, tells you what they are and links you to the research behind it. It’s been an eye opener on some products!

I don’t follow it religiously, but for products like body moisturiser where it’s all over your largest organ (skin) and stays on, I think it’s worth considering the impact of the chemicals involved.

declutteringmymind · 22/05/2025 15:40

You could use a shower oil instead, like the l’occitane one.

bizzey · 22/05/2025 16:01

Nivea Firming Q10 is ok .
I hate sticky stuff ..but I never noticed when I have put this on .

unstableunicorn · 22/05/2025 16:05

If you apply it when your skin is a bit damp most London absorbs better usually I think. Apart from that I find the super drug vitamin e one in a tub sinks in well, body shop body yogurts are super lightweight, or Lush do in shower body conditioners which are fantastic but pricey, leaves my skin so soft and moisturised I don't need lotion at all after

A what?

DeSoleil · 22/05/2025 17:30

Clarins body smoothing moisture milk.

TheFormidableMrsC · 22/05/2025 17:34

After years of using Vaseline Intensive Care, I’ve just switched because I didn’t realise it contained parabens. I’m now using Neureogena Deep Moisture which is really lovely.

Londonmummy66 · 22/05/2025 17:36

Dove in shower moisturiser - put it on, very quick rinse and towel dry. Great unless your skin is very dry. If the latter then Aveeno dry oil sinks in quickly.
