HELP! Postpartum Fashion Crisis

Before I was pregnant I was a size 6 top, 8-10 bottom and wore smart, classic pieces which accentuated my waist. I’m now five months postpartum and every morning I struggle to put together practical outfits that make me feel good. I’ve ordered so many clothes online but kept hardly anything, and I’ve now come to the conclusion that I’ve got no idea what I’m doing- I don’t know how to dress my new body shape and I’m spending a lot more time on the floor than I was before!

I desperately need to sort out a capsule wardrobe, preferably without spending a ridiculous amount of money as I don’t know whether I’ll stay this size/shape long term, as well as a holiday wardrobe for our first family holiday next month. Where do I begin? What clothes/styles are flattering on postpartum bodies? Where should I shop for my new wardrobe?

I’m 5ft4, currently a size 8 top and 12-14 bottom. I’ve still got my ‘mum tum’ and my thighs and hips are more shapely than they were before. I’m not breastfeeding so that doesn’t need to be taken into consideration.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you! X

Halara's bottoms are great because they are so stretchy (but look like regular jeans and are great for getting down on the floor!). I tend to operate on the rule of either tight bottoms and loose top, or tight top and loose bottoms, as I find this balances my silhouette out. Women's Denim - Halara. They also have shorts, and linen trousers (good for holidays!)

Don’t know where a ridiculous amount of money lies for you; but you could pretty much buy a holiday wardrobe in a bottle from either

Community Clothing

or

Uniqlo

depending on your budget. Both could cover all your everyday casual dressing needs - when you get home too.

@xmasdealhunter@ColdHenriettathank you both for your suggestions. Great ideas- I’ll have a look into them now.
