The title says it all really!

I adore this dress but it's probably 50pc white. It's from Reiss btw

I'm usually in the 'you have all the colours in the world, why pick white?' camp but the print and cut of this is not wedding dressy at all. I think it would be fine.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/05/2025 14:17

Of course it’s not ‘too white’. The idea that a coloured pattern on a white background isn’t ok for a wedding guest is quite odd imo, especially when it’s as bright and bold as that one.
(I ticked your first option - but tbh although the colours are fine I don’t like the style much).

StormInaDcup99 · 20/05/2025 14:20

My daughter had told me it was too white....hence my query lol

I initially thought it was fine....then my daughter made me wobble!

To be honest I think this dress looks better on someone with curves and boobs.

I never ever ever ever say this....but looks better on me than on the model...and I'm a size 16 lol

It’s lovely, btw.

Powderblue1 · 20/05/2025 14:35

No it’s fine

Mulledjuice · 20/05/2025 15:36

I think it depends how the pattern repeat comes out on the specific dress you get ( it won't necessarily be the same as the model)

Viviennemary · 20/05/2025 15:38

No it's fine.

JDM625 · 20/05/2025 15:39

Is it your daughters wedding?

I too am normally one to say if you have to ask, then its too white, but in this case, its bright, floral and in no way a wedding dress.

No...not daughter's wedding.....just a generic query really as I want to buy the dress

When did we move from no big white dresses to no white dresses to no white backgrounds on dresses?

We didn't

I was asking as my daughter said there was too much white in it for a wedding....so I thought I'd ask mumsnet for their thoughts 😅

It’s a lovely dress

why don’t you contact the bride and ask her what she thinks and tell her to be completely honest as it’s her special day

WokeMarxistPope · 21/05/2025 12:02

The idea behind no white is that a guest shouldn't be confused for the bride. That's never going to happen in that dress. I don't think your daughter is right here.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 21/05/2025 18:07

Not too white no, the bright flowers are the dominant colour

Well there is no bride and no wedding yet lol

It's just my daughter's graduation is coming up and I adore the dress but it's very expensive for one special event

So I'm trying to future proof it and ensure I could also wear it to a wedding.....if I get invited to one lol

Yes I did say this to my daughter before posting on here and I got a funny/sarcastic answer along the lines of....oh I thought it was so you wouldn't get confused with a Tablecloth lol

I don’t think anyone will mistake you for the bride in that!

Are you close to the bride? Could you ask her opinion?
If you’re feeling self conscious about it now then pick something else and save this dress for when you want to feel fabulous!
