I find jackets too hot. I put one of these over my denim dress it's nice and cool and really good quality and weighty. They have lots of different types.

short kimono jacket from one hundred stars? Very lightweight for hot climates and doesn’t wrinkle up in the suitcase.

What style of dress do you typically wear? The reason denim jackets looks good with summer dresses is because they are usually relatively short and fitted and a lot of summer dresses are floaty or a line.

I like a light blazer with summer trousers but they don’t seem to sit right with any of my summer dresses.

I have a khaki cotton jacket thigh length with a nipped in waist that I bought to go with jeans, but it looks awful with dresses.

I have a short, collarless version of a knitted blazer from Whistles that might work. Again it’s fitted and quite short. Mine is white but they probably have different colours.

@Drivingmissrangey that's it, the dresses I have quite A-line so need a shorter, fitted jacket. I have suitable blazers but want more casual - I think a denim jacket style in crotchet might be the way to go.

@Alltheoldpaintings I have some kimono style jackets that go with some of my dresses but want something more casual.

I'm visiting some relatives abroad who are quite rural. Normally I live in shorts & throw on a jumper but have put on weight & not been working out so feel more comfortable in dresses.
