Can I wear my gym wear to a water park/beach as an alternative to a rash vest?

Can I wear my Sweaty Betty leggings and long sleeve top to a water park? Presumably if I wash it afterwards the chlorine or salt won't damage the fabric too much as rash vests and gym wear are a similar fabric anyway?

If not, can anyone suggest some cheaper brands I can look at for protective and stylish swimwear? Maybe I can find something on eBay or Vinted.

I looked at some options from Speedo and Lyra but didn't like the styles and they were quite expensive.

I used to have a lovely long sleeve rash vest and leggings set from Solbari that I used to wear to water parks and the beach when on holiday. I am a red-head with very fair sensitive skin, burn easily and also had skin cancer ten years ago so I need to cover up. But I recently lost a lot of weight after being in hospital with a serious illness and am wondering whether I can use my gym wear for the 1-2 times a year that I visit a water park or beach as I looked to buy a new rash vest and leggings but the prices have gone up so much that I don't think I can justify the cost for something that I won't wear very often.

Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place but I wasn't sure if it should go under exercise or fashion....

Have a look at the next website . Kids stuff goes up to age 16 which is huge ( probably a uk 14) . The rash vests are cheap or decathlon . I think the friction would ruin decent gym wear from the slides etc

I wouldn’t wear non-swimming clothes to a pool that I wasn’t happy if they ended up trashed. I also think that it might be uncomfortable because while the fabrics might be similar, they’re not the same. And are they UPF 50 rated?

I’d be tempted to find your size of the swimwear brand you liked, and look to see if there’s any new ones for sale on Vinted.

Decathlon do lots of rashies that are perfect for this. You need a tightly woven fabric for the spf. If you go on ebay, there is a seller called reskinned that has lots of SB pre-owned at a good price. I wouldn't risk trashing my SB leggings in chlorine. If you can get them, Stingray are an Aussie brand for rashies that are hard-wearing and 50 SPF.

Search on Amazon for Modest Swimwear

I have the same problem and bought a lovely long-sleeved swimsuit on Amazon. It is high-necked and zips all the way up the front.

A lot of pools won’t let you in with gym stuff on or will ask you to get out and change

Thanks for all the advice! I will check out Next and Decathlon.
