Wedding guest breastfeeding

Hi! First time posting, have been looking for a while and read many recent threads on wedding outfits but am really struggling to find something suitable.

I am going to 3 or 4 wedding this year but different guests at all of them so can re-wear the same outfit.

I am currently breastfeeding my baby who will be 3 months old at the first wedding in 3 weeks. I have strong milk flow so any clothes that come down with flopping the boob out at the top dont really work well for me as everything ends up getting full of milk. I like wearing a 2 piece with a skirt and top so I can just pull the top up and avoid getting everything wet.

I'd quite like a skirt and top combo that looks like a dress, something like this
https://www.sezane.com/en-en/product/soraya-skirt/navy#size-6
(Sadly they don't have the top in my size, I'm between 10/12)

I'd like to stick to a budget of around 150- 200 but could stretch to 250 ish for something I really love since I will get a lot of use out of it this year.

Has anyone come across anything like this or am I looking for the impossible?

Have you looked at Seraphine? Their clothes are nursing-friendly and might be easier to find the right kind of style.

Yes, I’d say at this stage get something specifically feeding-friendly, even if you compromise on style. Or go down the route of nice top and skirt with a vest or belly band underneath so you can lift the top without feeling exposed.

Thanks!

Yeah I have had a look at Seraphine and a few other nursing specific brands, and I have a few tops like that but I find feeding through a small gap opened with a zip or a few buttons much more annoying (and leaky as I mentioned) so I generally prefer a separate top and bottom.

It's my second baby so I have experienced BF for a while at events with my first, it's less about the feeling exposed and more about not wanting to be covered in milk in our family fotos for all eternity (one is my brothers wedding) 😅

Is your latch okay? I’ve got a really strong letdown and flow this time too but I’m not getting soaked. If that’s a fixable issue, you’ll have a lot more options! Being covered in milk all the time can’t be pleasant. Babies cause enough washing as it is!

(Feel free to ignore this; I don’t mean it as unsolicited advice!)

I have seen a lactation consultant and im working on it so I was hoping it was an early days issue and maybe will manage to improve by then, but since I only have 3 weeks time the first wedding was hoping to get an outfit sorted that would work anyway.

I'm thankfully not always soaked, also because when i lift my top to feed i can just wipe it off my belly.. he often just let's go when the letdown is too strong or if he's getting distracted..

Zara have some nice coord sets at the mo, I was like you and much preferred normal clothes and just pulling my top up, so much more convenient!

Thank you! Have ordered one of these to try on and you've also taught me that this is called a coord haha now I can look for options more easily 😉

It might not be an option for you but I wore a strappy dress and got a local seamstress to install a button so I could just undo it and pop a boob out! She did it for about a tenner and was well worth it!

Have you tried ASOS nursing dresses? They used to have great occasionwear options. I had a beautiful navy lace-overlay nursing dress that I wore for a few weddings - very versatile and comfortable, and surprisingly stylish. Also worth a look on Vinted for older ASOS nursing stuff maybe, if they don't have much now?
