Sweaty wet underwear

In this hot weather, my knickers get wet from sweat and very uncomfortable. Wearing a liner helps but I don't like wearing them.

I googled some moisture wicking underwear and found some expensive knickers which I'm not sure would be worth it.

Does anyone else suffer from this and what is your solution?

Natural fibres are your friend. And not just for your pants, think about your trousers and skirts too. And avoid leather car seats!

Yes, definitely cotton knickers and loose fitting trousers or skirts.

if liner helps, try period underwear (lighter options, not for heavy flow) - I wear them to gym and they really help with crotch sweat.

Try merino underwear, it's a natural fibre, helps regulate temperature and avoids being sweaty/ smelly.

Not suggesting you smell rather that it doesn't hold smells.

merino underwear - they don’t smell and can wash and dry quickly so don’t need as many pairs. Try icebreaker.

I wear M&S period pants daily and they help with this.

I find bamboo fabric way better than merino... I now use StepOne, but Boody are also good. These threads reassure me I'm not the only swamp crotch lady out there! I hate it!

I put roll on anti perspirant at the top of my legs, I have a sit down job and peri menopause.

Unpopular opinion. But I hate cotton knickers for this reason, if they get damp then they stay damp and clammy, ditto activewear.
I have silky microfibre knickers, mine came from Sainsbury's, but they don't have them any more.
My DH has the same issue and he wears the autograph silk microfibre boxers, I have thought of trying them.

I get a sweaty crotch, and whilst I’m not very hairy, I find trimming the lady garden right back makes me feel a bit fresher.

WildBalonz · 23/05/2025 13:46

Honestly when it’s this hot out I usually wear a summer dress or skirt and I don’t bother with underwear. No need since no clothing is touching your bits and definitely helps stay a bit cooler. If I have to wear jeans or similar then I’ll wear period underwear as they seem to absorb the sweat better.

I bought the StepOne ones on your suggestion and they are great! No dampness at all

Glad I could help! I'm trialling their bamboo ladies boxers for anti sweat but also anti chub rub under skirts next! 🙂
