Has anyone ever solved red patchy skin on upper arms?

It came up during pregnancy with my first in 2021 and never went away. I’ve recently lost three stone and finally feel confident in a vest but don’t like the look of this red spotty skin on my left upper arm. I think it’s called KP spots? Has anyone found a cure?

Do you eat a lot of bread? That's what caused mine. I don't have it now and it's gone. I can have wraps, pizza and flat bread.

Urea cream (like Flexitol or similar) is really good for getting rid of Keratosis pilaris. Anecdotally I'd add that mine has greatly reduced since adding fish oil supplements to my diet.

I get these but I have noticed the redness has gone quite a lot since I started using a dove soap bar on them

I've lost a lot of weight and have cut out bread - coinciding with a massive reduction in KP on my arms and legs.

Getting more sun on my skin also helps, and I think using a shower oil instead of cheap shower gels has probably helped as well. I rarely moisturise.

You need a chemical exfoliant, glycolic or lactic acid creams are available from the chemist. Don’t pick at it or use manual scrubs etc as that can make it worse. KP is basically your skin overproducing keratin and plugging the hair follicles leading to redness, inflammation and bumps. Keep its moisturised with a lightweight lotion

Gluten/dairy are often triggers. Vitamin D also helps, especially in the form of - safe - exposure to the sun.

Thanks for the replies! I follow a keto diet and have lost 3 stone on it, so have no carbs at all, so don’t think gluten is the culprit. It could definitely be dairy, but seems odd that it would’ve come up suddenly when I’ve never had issues before.

will try a Urea cream! I tried a Paula’s choice AHA lotion that cost a bomb and did nothing after 6 months religious use, so need to try something new!
