Is there any point in getting a boob lift in my mid-40’s

I’ve got 36ff boobs that don’t have any fullness on top. They’re not around my knees, but they’re not where I want them to be 😂

But, I’m getting into perimenopause and wondering if this is just a part of life I need to accept? If I balance the cost of surgery vs a family holiday, I would pick boobs as it’s something that affects me every day. Family wouldn’t agree!!

What has your experience been? If you’ve had a lift how old were you and were you still happy with the results in your 40’s?

Just for info - this is not true for everyone. It’s certainly not been my experience.

No, it’s true that everyone is different!

What about having a breast reduction? So that you don’t need scaffolding? Breasts get saggier with age, so if you don’t like it now, you’ll like it less post menopausally.

It’s up to you. I dabble with the idea of a facelift sometimes, then I think I’d rather travel more! Maybe one day I’ll get a facelift. But it bothers me less as I get older and become more invisible.

I’d strongly recommend against getting anything done in Turkey though. The anaesthesia there is done differently to the uk, so it’s much stronger. I know people who got botched surgeries done in Turkey.

I am a few years younger than you but I recently had an uplift and implants (had lost quite a lot of weight but even before that my breasts were droopy and uneven. I’ve hated them for as long as I can remember)

The recovery is tougher than I expected, probably because it wasn’t just implants. That said after the first 2 weeks it gets much easier. I’m at 8 weeks now and I feel so much more confident in my body and am so pleased I did it. In fact I am glad I didn’t do it in my 20s because I think I’d have possibly felt like I’d need to show them off! Now it’s just nice to be able to wear the lovely tops I wanted to wear but didn’t feel confident enough to, nobody who I haven’t told about it has noticed.

Best thing I ever did (early 40’s). Until I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair (8cm’s) at 50. Wish I had done both sooner. I had 3 kids back to back in my 30’s, with quite a large weight gain and loss over each pregnancy. I was all hanging skin until the surgeries.

Allseeingallknowing · 12/05/2025 21:37

OP- I had a breast reduction and uplift at 69, and I wouldn’t mind a face and neck lift now, in my late seventies!

foreverblowingbubbless · 13/05/2025 03:51

Uplift only or reduction and uplift?

superplumb · 13/05/2025 11:12

If you can afford it do it. Women rarely put ourselves first
Id like a tummy tuck and plan to have one before I turn 50

Liondoesntsleepatnight · 13/05/2025 11:14

I was going to mention improving chest muscles too! Give it a go?

Maybe a reduction too? I think the size of them is part of the struggle!! But I think that’s something I would want to discuss with a surgeon. Not in Turkey 😂

The reason I asked is because I had both at the age of 40 and it was one of the best things I have ever done. I just wanted to be normal after what pregnancy did to my boobs.

calamariqueen · 13/05/2025 20:15

I don’t think pregnancy & feeding had a huge impact on them, it’s more collapsing under their own weight 😵‍💫 they were gigantic when I was feeding, they went up to a J cup, so probably has damaged the tissue in some way. Previous poster said she had an uplift in her 70’s so there’s definitely time for me to give it full consideration!

One of my friends had a reduction so I’ll have to ask her about it. She was chuffed, showing them off to everyone 🤣

I think the trouble is, that once you have one thing done like a boob lift, you start to see other imperfections and then want them fixed too. It’s why I won’t have Botox etc though I could do with it…I know once my face was sorted out I’d start seeing everything that was wrong with my body! It would never end 😂

This really isn’t true and a lot of women who have had Botox just look fresh and ‘open’ and a good aesthetics doctor or nurse will make sure that your ‘injectables are not detectable’. There are a lot of women who give Botox and fillers a really bad rep by overdoing it and completely changing their features.
Cosmetic procedures do not lead to others, it’s not an illicit drug.

OP if you feel that it will benefit your life and how you feel about yourself then go for it. I’ve had my teeth done and it’s been honestly the best investment in myself.

taupeskies · 13/05/2025 20:24

OP, if you have ITV catch up, watch the recent Olivia Attwood series “The price of perfection” all about people undergoing surgical enhancements. The episode about the breast surgeries was really interesting and there was a lady on there who had a reduction after having children.

Ooh thanks for this. I’ll try and take a look. Appreciate the recommendation 😃

I had a reduction a couple of years back in my 40s, the BEST thing I’ve ever done for myself. Thoroughly recommend.

Partypops10 · 14/05/2025 22:12

Yup it’ll be a game changer for you. The scars are so fine you wont notice them after the first year. You probably won’t need implants and it’ll be better for your posture and your confidence. A lot of people associate cosmetic surgery with wanting to be some reality star but for most people it’s not like that.

tillyandmilly · 14/05/2025 22:16

how about a reduction 36FF is quite large -

Sbuck4 · 12/07/2025 09:51

I have just had an uplift no implants. I'm 2 weeks post surgery and I have no regrets apart from not doing it sooner. I would do it if nobody ever saw my boobs apart from me ever again. I never took my bra off previously apart from to shower when I would hold them whilst showering mostly because i found it uncomfortable without a bra they werent overly saggy just heavy and emptier. I was a 34ff and have 4 kids and breast fed. I haven't taken any painkillers since my surgery, they already look amazing and feel amazing to me, not just to touch but to stand without a bra they feel comfortable. I love them, I had a brilliant surgeon though who I can't recommend enough. Recovery has been easy and it has been worth every penny. I am 41.

Summerdew · 12/07/2025 13:13

The best thing is not having to wear a sweaty bra in this heat and wafting in something breezy - worth every penny!

KhakiTurtle · 12/07/2025 14:29

I got a breast reduction and lift done in my 50s I was. 38 G and was sagging! It’s the best decision I ever made
