So what online fashion store sells casual/durable/easy to wash stuff like the GAP but is slightly more funky and less mumsy?

Oh god. Gap is mumsy?? I thought it was all a bit young for me last time I was in there. I am not yet 30. There is no hope for me.

JackieNo · 19/05/2008 15:22

Um, Fat Face and White Stuff?

JackieNo · 19/05/2008 15:23

Fat Face
White Stuff.
(and also rather about Gap being mumsy)

suzywong · 19/05/2008 15:29

ah, well I haven't been in a GAP for 4 years, so what do I know, but I just have visions of it being very Soccer Mom-ie and now I live in deepest darkest suburbia and drive a volvo I need all the help I can get.

Twinkie1 · 19/05/2008 15:31

MargaretMountford · 19/05/2008 15:33

Gap isn't mumsy ! I shop at White Stuff too - you'll prob. think I'm now too old for such things and should gracefully submit to M&S separates

TesCod · 19/05/2008 15:34

MargaretMountford · 19/05/2008 15:34

winebeforepearls · 19/05/2008 15:38

... just farking Gap career advice, some other website masquerading as Gap, Groups, Algorhythms and

winebeforepearls · 19/05/2008 15:40

because of course no one makes any money online? which century are they in?

Sorry suzy, not much help with your search. Where in Oz are you? In the UK I would go to French Connection if I was feeling flush, or H&M.

winebeforepearls · 19/05/2008 15:41

... or Topshop, although I can't pretend all their stuff is top quality.

mylovelymonster · 19/05/2008 15:43

Have noticed GAP clothing much poorer quality these days. Anyone else?

Wuxiapian · 19/05/2008 17:06

GAP aint what it used to be, that's for sure.

Guess they all go down that save-money-knock-out-cheap-gear route at some point.

MargaretMountford · 19/05/2008 17:25

yep, lots of loose threads and badly sewn seams, plus this week I've sewn up a hole in both ds's polo shirt and my stripy t shirt

mylovelymonster · 19/05/2008 20:27

Material has become really thin and rubbish. I only go there for jeans now, but maybe not much longer.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 19/05/2008 20:32

LOL at MargaretM's M&S analysis. When I married DH i asked him to threaten to divorce me if I ever buy anything from M&S. I'm sure he's long forgotten, i haven't.
