Chipped gel manicure on cheese grater after 2 hours - help!

Stupidly chipped my gel manicure while using the grater. The nail probably is fileable but just want to check that's the best thing to do first?

Is the edge of the manicure now more likely to chip away?

If you file the whole edge it won’t be ‘capped’ any more and the edge will be more likely to lift. If it’s a minor chip it might be better to leave it, so the whole thing doesn’t lift? Although I know some people never struggle with lifting, I do, and have had various pros do my nails.

I'm always chipping mine, I gently file from underneath, they don't usually get any worse.
Go in one direction, outside towards the middle then run a nail from your other hand under the chipped nail to check for any flaky bits or burs then gently file those off.

Go back and ask for a repair.

Go back and ask for a repair.

I don't really have time but yes that would be the best option.

This is what I thought. Although I noticed the manicurist filed my nails after the final coat too (I don't get gels often but didn't think they usually did that).

A small part of the polish has already chipped away now before I've even begun filing. Just wondering if I'm better off getting it repaired.
