Work shoes for the summer

Hello!
I started a new job in September where I have to have closed toe shoes and cannot wear trainers. I spent all of autumn/winter wearing my DMs as I also have a 20 min walk to and from the bus stop over uneven ground so need a supportive/sturdy shoe.
It's been way to hot recently to wear my DMs but I'm struggling to find a summer alternative.
I don't mind a chunky heal providing the shoes can handle the walk.
I really dislike brogues and my feet get hot in dolly shoes.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

I would maybe suggest loafers (I don’t like them myself but they might fit the bill, you can get some that look pretty sturdy).
I fortunately can wear trainers to the office, think I’d be fucked if I couldn’t!

Possibly not what you’re after but could you wear trainers on your walk and swap into less practical shoes for the office? Might widen your criteria a bit?

Why don't you walk to/from work in trainers and change once there? That is what I used to do. I have no idea what dolly shoes are and google doesn't help?
I find leather and natural fibres much cooler than plastic/PVC type materials.

I bought these to wear on nights out they do have the closed toe but...

I'm going with toms this year. They do some smarter style ones and not quite as cripplingly shaped as ballet flats.

How much are you prepared to spend? If your budget is high take a look at Tracey Nuels. I have 2 pairs of her boots - one bought very reduced in a sample sale - which I wear to work regularly and I walk or cycle both directions (15 min cycle or 40 min walk). They are both nearing 10 years old now but really don’t look it. Quality def lasts and she does shoes with a far more summary feel.

You could keep your work shoes at work and wear your trainers for the commute.

Moshulu make comfy shoes - here's their range of 'work' shoes:

Returns are easy so you will be able to find the best size/style for you.

I don't like changing shoes at work. I've done it in the past and ended up with things being moved/misplaced, or I'd wear them home by accident and then forget to bring them back the next day.

Sorry dolly shoes are ballet flats (sometimes used when they have the foot strap but not always). Must be slang where I live for them!

Also how about DM t bars? I picked up a nearly new pair of these in a charity shop earlier this year and I love them for work

Sketchers do a variety of shoes, not just trainers
DS has Sketchers school shoes and the do plenty of other styles that are very comfy and still smart

I have a few pairs of WONDERS shoes, in the chunky loafer style, very comfortable for walking in and despite being chunky are surprisingly lightweight.
