Loss of height - normal?

Just about to turn 50 this year, very good health but measured myself today and realised I have lost 2 inches in height since I was a teen. I’m already pretty short and now am barely 5 foot! Is this going to continue? I weight train and have done for the last year so am hopefully minimising bone loss. But, worried!

Last time I was measured at the Drs was at my last smear, I had lost height and commented but the nurse dismissed it and said completely normal at my age (early 50s), and that It wasn't much loss, implying more was common. It was only 0.5" but still, I am pretty short to start with! I think it is the spaces in our spines that shrinks.

This is really interesting as my 13 year old is 5 ft ( just ) and I’ve always been 5.8 but we were walking and she said look how short you’ve got and I realised the top of her head is just below my ears ! So either she’s had a growth spurt or I’ve lost some inches alongside 3 stone

Pilates helps, I’m 50, 6ft, and can see that my partner who is shorter than me, 52 and doesn’t do it, shrinking before my eyes!
