You know those tankini things which sometimes come with shorts-like bottoms?

Well, can you get swimming costumes with bottom bits like that? Because I am fed up of having to yank mine down over my bum all the time.
Not that I can actually afford to buy anything atm

Boden used to do something called a boyleg swimsuit, don't know if they've got one in the current catalogue though as I have given up shopping for a year!

JackieNo · 18/05/2008 08:01

Boden still do a boyleg swimsuit, though it's not really shorts, just low cut. Lands End have their 'tugless' range of swimsuits - but v ££.

TurkeyLurkey · 18/05/2008 08:08

M&S do a longer length swimming costume here. Means they cover your bum properly and they don't get constantly eaten by your bum cheeks.

TurkeyLurkey · 18/05/2008 08:08

They do some other styles as well in the longer length.

JackieNo · 18/05/2008 08:22

Some of these might work, though they're not necessarily the most attractive ones I've seen. This claims to be boyleg, but is more like the Boden one.

Saw one in Boots (t was a really big Boots), fairly expensive but looked like it might be flattering/ feel ok on.

ChippyMinton · 18/05/2008 08:30

what turkeylurkey said. i have a long body so buy the longer length suits - lots of places do them, Bhs, marks etc. Not sure that the boyleg ones are particularly flattering.

TooTicky · 18/05/2008 12:26

Those legsuits look promising

Blimey, that fig leaves one is £113 and it's nothing special.

M&S sorted my swim-suit quandary. Most of their tankini's seem to be mix and match and so far, no camel-toe ishoos

I have a great bikini with teensy shorts and a belt, but a normal triangle top. Brown. Bought it in Fenwicks 3 years ago, to wear nine months after giving birth (when I had absolutely no bottom, but a slightly crepey tummy, and bigger than usual breast).

Minum · 18/05/2008 19:40

I bought the Boden shorts style swimming costume last year. I am only 5'3", but it was way too short in the body. I cut the bra bit off, turned over 1/2", threaded elastic through, which made lovely waist high shorts . I reckon the original costume was 6" short in the body !

What I want is to buy a proper tankini with waist high shorts, with boy legs - any one see one anywhere ?

TooTicky · 18/05/2008 20:01

See, I couldn't wear a two piece one because of the inevitable slice of wobbly tum.

I've got this Fantaise one which has adjustable sides with straps. You can wear them pulled up like on the pic but if you pull them down it looks just like the boden one and sits down on your thighs more like shorts (might not work if you are a long bod which I'm not!). I have 2 of these costumes and had one last year - find them really good as am petite with large chest so you can get a smaller size with bra size cups www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product_id=FE-8009&mci=&size=&colour=&image=r537468-p594004-style
