Looking for hair advice

DH and I are celebrating our 30 wedding anniversary in July and are planning a party to celebrate. I want to look as good as possible, my hair has always been long but I am thinking about getting a bob style. It would possibly be more flattering in my late 50’s .
Also advice on colour would be very welcome.

Here I am along with the styles I was considering. I appreciate the models are about 40 years younger but I think the hair could suit an almost 60 year old.

Hopeful bump. Anyone?

Your hair looks much thicker than the model in the first style (your hair is really really lovely btw!). Think the second would work well. The fringe might need to be fuller on you, unless you've got quite a high hairline?

Late 50s?
You look amazing and your hair is gorgeous as it is
I got mine chopped off last year and I regret it especially as its barely grown
Keep it long

BessieBest · 25/04/2025 14:39

I think your current hair is gorgeous! keep as is!

I agree your hair looks fab and in really good condition - shiny and swishy. I think going shorter might age you and when your hair looks as good as it is I’d keep it that length and not go for a drastic chop before your anniversary party. A bouncy blow dry would be really flattering.

Thanks you for replying. I did think that going shorter would give me a lift at my age but perhaps that’s not the case.

I agree you should keep it long. Maybe have a couple of layers put in and experiment with a curling wand which seems to be the modern look. Everyone I know around this age who’s gone short hasn’t appeared more youthful although it does look smart. I really like both the styles you’ve picked but would caution that they will need more upkeep so if you’re not in the habit of using straighteners etc consider whether that’s something you want to do every day.
