Bra for support and hopefully uplift?

Any ideas please on best bra to improve a saggy bustline?
I noticed a few weeks ago that my normal M&S flexifit soft bras, while comfortable, make my breasts look nearly at my waist - and sitting down, even worse. I tried shortening the straps - no real improvement.

I have a couple of bras from Miss Mary of Sweden, they're a bit better.
I really prefer no underwire, but I'd consider it if it's the only way to line them up again. I also prefer nude colours.
I'm 69, steadily and intentionally losing weight, so don't want to spend too much when in another 6 months I expect to be a different size. Currently I'm wearing a 42B but I think that's probably not my proper size, it's just what I've had for the last couple of years.
Grateful for anyone else's experience/ideas.

You need to go somewhere and be properly measured and fitted eg Bravissimo or John Lewis or Rigby and Peller. Just buy a couple of bras if you think you are going to lose more weight and rinse them out to dry overnight. I have just been to be properly fitted for the first time since Covid and have gone down a size and a cup and although I have a large bust I look and feel so much better. If you can’t go anywhere phone Bravissimo - they are very good at giving advice and you can return any bras you don’t like,

yes I agree, you can't get much of an uplift from any bra, if it's miles the wrong size. Try "A Bra That Fits" reddit if you can't go for in person fitting. Once you have your size, I would recommend searching for padded half-cup bras. You can find good bargains on ebay (new, of course)

Most of the lift comes from the back rather than the straps. It does sound like you could go down from a 42 and probably bigger on the cup.

I find a balcony/balconette gives good shape and support. Moulded T-shirt bras can also help with the rounded and lifted shape.

I’m a 32 or 34 E or F depending on where I’m shopping, so I prefer an underwire.

What is your dress size? Generally the band size is your dress size plus 20.

I recently tried skims and am completely impressed! The sizing is crazy so you really need to try a lot of styles and sizes. But the quality and lift and comfort is next level.

Is it? If I did this I’d be in a 36 back and I’m actually 30 and comfortable.

Boob or Bust method of measuring has worked well for me. When I started wearing the right size people actually asked if I’d lost weight, the bra changed my shape so much.

I agree with the person who suggested Bravissimo. That is what they specialise in after all. Their staff are the best and all my bras are now comfortable and a very different size than M&S staff told me. Also Bravissimo staff do a lot of training so give the best advice.

I did a virtual fitting with bravissimo this week. Highly recommended from me! I highly doubt you're a 42 back, especially with a B cup, so I think it would be beneficial having a proper fitting (not m&s!).

Just to say - my post has now been unhidden - with a useful link for measuring
