Help, it's a wedding guest one!

Im going to a wedding next Friday and initially had planned to wear one of two wrap dresses, pretty standard summer florals, but having tried them on this morning I just feel really down. My saggy yet full breastfeeding boobs make me look like a buxom yet frumpy mum. I know the mother of the bride is super traditional and not a fan of loads of cleavage so I'll just feel like I'm always checking and adjusting. There are also going to be lots of beautiful stylish people at this wedding so want to feel comfortable and confident.

I'm 5'4, 14/16 with broad shoulders and quite booby at the moment. Could ideally do with being able to wear a bra for this reason. A bit of a mum tum so a line or wrap as opposed to body con. Neutral undertone, dark brown hair, 31. Budget up to £100.

Please help!

Also wide trousers and an elegant top plus statement jewellery would look lovely too

Grammarnut · 23/04/2025 23:32

I'd go for the Yumi kimono dresses. They look really flattering.

UpMyself · 24/04/2025 08:55

I'm not sure that someone who is breastfeeding wants to showcase her assets, but agree otherwise with @Merryoldgoat
I think that wrap dresses tend to fall into the 'flattering' category in not the right way - they look nice on the slender but tend to make the rest of us look like we're trying to hide lumps and bumps.

A V-neck doesn't suit me.

So I've trawled the various websites and couldn't find anything that jumped out, and couldn't see any trousers I loved either! I did find this which I might order as think the neckline is high enough to be modest and with a decent bra should fit nicely.

That Oasis dress is lovely, especially if you have great legs and some glamorous wedges or strappy sandals.

Really though, your friends will just be happy to see you!

MyDeftDuck · 25/04/2025 13:34

Could you wear a camisole under the dress to cover your cleavage ?

I’m booby and have always been very conscious of hiding my cleavage rather than “flaunting” it.
I wear a bra, with a strapless boob tube sort of thing over the top of the bra underneath a wrap dress. Keeps them bad boys right in.
I’ve tried to share a link as an example below for you x

I've been occasion dress shopping of late. I saw this in store a few days ago when you posted, but couldn't find it online to link. It just popped up on my fb feed, so I'm linking it for you now as I think you'd really suit the style of it 😊.
