I am going to a destination wedding in June as mother of groom. I am absolutely hopeless at makeup and now starting to panic about the day.
What am l best to do?
Should l go to Boots and ask what to use and how to apply the makeup counter or should l aim for a makeup lesson before l go.
it won't be possible to get it done using the bridal makeup artist.
This is totally stressing me out

Could the bridal MUA recommend someone in the area?

oh that's a good idea. Thanks

Where are you going? If somewhere hot you may be better off with very minimal makeup.

The temperature will be around 25 degrees - Croatia

If you’re not comfortable with makeup, booking a lesson before the wedding is your best bet; it’ll give you personalized tips and the confidence to do your look on the day. Visiting a makeup counter like Boots can help you pick the right products, but a proper lesson means you’ll learn how to apply everything step-by-step and have time to practice. Keep it simple and focus on enhancing your natural beauty; you’ll look great and feel more relaxed.

Try a Charlotte Tilbury counter maybe? Great products, excellent setting spray (essential if you think it’ll be warm) and from my experience, friendly staff who’ll show you how to apply everything.

If you really want to get to grips with makeup I’d recommend https://www.cosmeticsalacarte.com/pages/day-makeup-service and lots and lots of practice before the big day.

alternatively, contact the hotel / destination and ask for a recommendation. Book a couple of trial sessions with the artist as part of the overall cost so you can get a natural look which if you are not used to make up you will probably feel much more comfortable with. Enjoy.

Day Makeup Service

Book a professional makeup service creating a light, natural makeup look for casual or daytime occasions. 40 mins £75

The wedding was in June so I'm not sure telling OP to contact the hotel for recommendations is very helpful 2 months later
