Anyone buy kids clothing for themself?

I’ve just bought a nice blouse from the kids range at M&S for £18. It looks like something from Nobody’s Child rather than covered in cartoon characters etc!

Anyone else buy from the kids range?

Yes I do, girls age 13/14 in most stores & the trousers often come up shorter than women’s depending where I shop

MulberryPeony · 12/04/2025 15:02

Yes.

I know a few petite ladies were buying children’s Sézane cardigans. The sleeves are generally shorter so okay so long as you don’t have long arms. Not tried it myself yet.

I have bought children’s shoes and trainers on more than one occasion.

Kids trainers all the time - no VAT!

LetsWatchTheFlowersGrow · 12/04/2025 15:05

Yes, I do. I’m 5ft 3 inches, and a size 8-10, so I can usually fit girls 13/14.

Also, I sometimes buy “Older girls” trainers, even though I’m a 5 or 6

Bought some kids Converse a few weeks back too!0

I’m 160cm tall with size 37/8 feet so I have bought a few things for myself (typically t shirts/tops and rain jackets). I’m wearing DD’s outgrown trainers ATM!

I don’t wear shoes with heels, so kids’ strappy sandals are quite good. I find plimsolls tend to be a bit narrower so they are worth trying before buying if you can.

My DD22 is 5 ft and has size 2 feet. She always buys kid’s clothes. She recently bought a tennis skirt and her friend bought the adult version. Her friends was £30 and DD’s was £6! Her trainers are half the price of the adult version.

I've got a nice squort from New Look in the kids range. And one top from New Look in kids range.
But a lot of the tops in fashion for kids are show tummy tops which I don't like.
And while I'm short, I do have an adult figure which doesn't translate a lot into the kids clothes!

OxfordInkling · 12/04/2025 15:32

When it fits, yes.

Onlythemother · 12/04/2025 15:34

One of my dd's does, she's usually size 6 in womens. She finds quite a bit in charity shops as well, hardly worn as probably grown out of quickly or we speculate bought by a well meaning but out of touch grandmother or aunt!

BatshitCrazyWoman · 12/04/2025 15:36

Yes, especially trainers (I'm a size 4 or 4 and a half so older girls' ones fit me).

Clothes - I haven't recently, but I'm an 8/10 and teenage girls clothes have fit in the past.

Missey85 · 12/04/2025 15:42

I get a lot of basic clothes from the kids section it's cheaper 😊 I've also got tiny feet so will get kids shoes as well ❤️

QuillBill · 12/04/2025 15:47

Yes, lots of times. The Next and M&S kids clothes are massive.

We buy our Christmas PJs at Marks and Spencer’s and my brother and my adult nephews get age 15-16. They are huuuge.

Echobelly · 12/04/2025 15:57

I used to all the time until middle-aged spread put a stop to it!

I am only 5ft 1 with small boobs, so when I was a size 8 I could easily buy age 14 tops and dresses and they tended to fit me better than adult ones. Not trousers though, as I always had a largish waist.
