My dear friend is going into hospital and fancies some really nice cotton pyjamas. I want to treat her to cheer her up and saw some from Desmond and dempsey. Can you recommend or suggest some other makes? Thanks

Tekla if you want to spend a lot.

Toast for cozy luxury at a less elevated price.

Inara on Wolf and Badger. Tunics over trousers so can double as a nightie which can be handy in hospital

I hear very good things about Piglet in Bed x

I second the Piglet in Bed recommendation. I only discovered them earlier this year but already I’m addicted. They’re really good quality (much better quality fabric than Desmond & Dempsey) and cut very nicely.

I love Their Nibs cotton pjs, really nice and cool and a comfortable fit for sitting around in.

Thank you for your recommendations

For those of us in the real world where Pjs arent needing a mortgage…… I recently bought some cyberjammies nighties and pjs ready for a hospital stay. They feel amazing, are comfortable, lightweight and warm.

They look nice, what’s the sizing like?

lavenderlolly · 11/04/2025 22:05

Chelsea Peers

nokidshere · 11/04/2025 22:06

@Dueanamechange2025i sized up because I’m having an op on my torso but they are extremely generous and I could have got my normal size.

Poonu · 11/04/2025 22:08

My mum got some DKNY ones from Costco and they're super soft even though they look silky. They look expensive

savvy7 · 11/04/2025 22:13

I buy Toast in the sale but have bought Cyberjammies for family and they're really good.too

TheFairyCaravan · 11/04/2025 22:13

I love Chelsea Peers Pyjamas. If you get the white ones they’re much softer than the coloured ones for some reason.

Thanks, hope the op goes well.

Bonsoir or Chelsea Peers

Flamingmentalcats · 12/04/2025 09:55

I have lots of cyberjammies but have gone back to adds Jersey pjs as I have found I sweat more in my cyberjammies than Asda's due to menopause night sweats.
But saying that, cyberjammies are so soft and comfortable. The Nora Rose ones are even sorted that they do and a little bit more pretty I think. They do good sales so worth a look and they came nicely packaged too
You are a lovely friend wanting to treat her like this

PemberleynotWemberley · 12/04/2025 12:09

I bought pj and a robe from Gabrielle Parker for a hospital stay. They are all a very light cotton, loose fitting and have really pretty colours and prints. I definitely felt better while receiving visitors etc, and six years later still wear them.
Good luck to your friend for her op.

That’s the dyeing process, it’s why I only ever get white bedding

They do look lovely. I love nighties, shame lots on there are sleeveless.

Djangor3725 · 13/04/2025 10:24

My friend had a tummy op and found that pyjamas not comfy round her middle so she wanted nightshirts - nighties not too short with buttons all the way down. Eventually found some cotton ones in Primark that were not indecently short

Go for something really light. Hospitals are boiling.

ladygindiva · 13/04/2025 23:56

My sister in law was wearing some gorgeous pyjamas from seasalt when she came to stay.
