Comfortable but nice shoes for city break

I’m looking for a comfortable pair of trainers/shoes that I can walk around in for most of the day whilst on a city break. Temperatures around the early 20s so I may alternate with a comfy sandal (already have these) but ideally need a closed shoe option too.
I’ve purchased the Regatta Marine Heritage trainers which are really comfy but look quite big on my feet. Can anyone suggest anything more petite but still comfortable and practical? Ideally looking to pay £40-50 max.

Hi wore sketchers go walk in Japan for 3 weeks, 30000 steps a day. Brilliant.

I wore Fitflop rally for a week in Amsterdam and they were fantastically comfy. M and M have them for about £50.

Do you not have trainers op? I just take what I already know is comfortable and worn in.

Thanks All, some helpful ideas!

@Chromaover I have trainers but I'm not really a trainer person. I always feel 'wrong' in them.
I bought some Puma Carina's last year that someone had recommended (including for comfort) and they are not comfortable at all after walking around for over an hour.
I always have a pair of converse lurking around but need something with a bit more support and comfort.

I would choose a cheap pair of Nike or new balance, they are always reliable and comfy for me. Sketchers hurt my arch as they are too soft and adidas are too narrow.

Nike revolutions or new balance 680s are great.

They might be a bit over budget for you, but my most comfortable trainers are my Adidas Spezials. They have good arch support, look nice (lots of colour choices), and happily accommodate my wide-ish feet.

I've just been to Copenhagen for the weekend and walked EVERYWHERE - probably 20-25k steps each day - and my feet were absolutely fine (the rest of me aches, but that's a different story...).
