Looking for some advice.
I am heading to my 60th birthday and my skin is suddenly looking old! I have a deep line across the bridge of my nose which I am beginning to fixate on.
I know there is not much of an alternative to getting old but I would like to keep my skin looking reasonable as long as possible.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A deep line would likely only be got rid of by Botox. It might be helped by a retinol or retinoid, but that is more for softening fine lines, and improving the condition of your skin more generally.

The usual advice is to start with a relatively gentle product and see how you react.

eg: www.boots.com/la-roche-posay-retinol-b3-serum-30ml-10274729

I also just saw a No 7 product in the £10 Tuesday offer:

(Later on, you can get prescription retinoids from Dermatica or Skin&Me, with Tretinoin as the strongest option, prescribed by a dermatologist or bought abroad.)

While using a retinol/retinoid, you absolutely have to use a high factor SPF as it makes the skin temporarily more sensitive to sun damage.

What skincare do you already use, @joy072?

I agree re retinol. Tretinoin is the prescription retinol and is the only thing that would make a real difference.

I went to a slightly more clinical (ie not just relaxing!) facialist recently and she suggested a course of microneedling. I might give that a go. Or non invasive laser treatment. Why don't you see
someone similar and see what they recommend?

I think once you are past 50 creams won't make a huge difference realistically so you either just have to accept the aging process and not worry, or go a bit more high tech. I'm not going to spend loads or do anything that might go wrong (like Linda Evangalista) so I think only minor cosmetic treatments such as perhaps laser for me.
