HELP! Creepy wrinkly skin around eyes at 27

Hi all,
Looking for some advice. My eyes have became very crepey and wrinkly the last year, especially when I smile. I’m only 27 but my eyes look a good 20 years older. 😫

They’ve always been very hollow since I was a kid. The fine lines are visible when I’m not smiling (see pic) but much worse when I smile.

I smoked briefly in my early twenties but don’t drink and have always worn spf. I do itch and rub my eyes a lot in my sleep so wondering if that’s contributed to it? The first pic is with a relaxed face, second is when I smile. It’s the inner corner lines I dislike the most.

Any remedies or creams much recommended. 🙂I was thinking of tear through filler but my eyes are that hollow I’m not sure it would work?

You would get a great result with botox. Make sure it's Allergan though - the rest are rubbish rip offs. You seem young to start botox, but you could try it and see what you think.

I'm not sure re. botox there - here are some other options:

The things that I use and would recommend:

  1. spf during the day (e.g. mineral spf such as Hero force shield or chemical spf such as Beauty of Joseon rice + probiotics)
  2. retinal eye cream at night (Beauty of Joseon revive eye serum)
  3. sunglasses to stave off further wrinkles

Just wanted to say, you have such beautiful eyes!

Botox around the eyes is horribly aging.
I personally love eye wrinkles, they bring such character and remind me of smiles on hot summer evenings.
But if you're unhappy l, try a retinol eye cream, the skin around eyes is very thin so some products will be too harsh.
The inkey do a good one.

Anyone suggesting Botox to a 27 year old should be ashamed.

@Olalblue when was the last time you saw an optician? I’m wondering if you’re unconsciously screwing up or straining your eyes in everyday life? If this isn’t something you’ve considered I would make an appointment.

Secondly, how’s your diet? Do you get enough fruit and vegetables? And are you at your optimum weight? A blood test may (or may not) clarify whether you need to make any changes.

Obviously topical skincare is important but there may be more fundamental issues worth dealing with.

Drinking enough water has the best effect on my eye area. I gave up touche eclat because of it!

However your (beautiful) eyes look completely normal. There's nothing to fix, the skin is supposed to move when your expression changes?

When I was in my 20s I used to obsess over dark circles and I thought my friends with hooded eyes looked somehow fresher and younger but actually now I'm in my 40s the tables have turned and my deep set eye area isn't drooping as much as friends with hooded eyes.

Thank you all for your advice and compliments😊😊 I did have Botox once but it only seemed to help the outer lines and made the under/inner eye ones look more prominent.
@MuddlerInLaw thats a very good point regarding the optician. I haven’t went since I was a teen and have always had a bit of a squint/eye roll so can imagine thats not helping the lines.

Thanks again, I definitely need to up my water intake too!

oops sorry, wrong thread. Chocolate might be good for your eyes though.

Isn’t it rather messy to apply?😁

My eyes are exactly the same, I've always had dark circles since I was a child and ds was born with them and most people comment on how tired he looks. It's just our face shape. I've been putting moisturiser on my under eyes before bed every night it hasn't helped the colour but helped a bit with the crinkles. Following with interest if anyone's got a way to hide them using make up. Whenever I put concealer over them it just makes them look worse.

Olalblue · 04/04/2025 15:16

@Mytime2shine my ds1 (3) is exactly the same! He was born with the same hollow eyes and people always comment he looks exhausted. He sleeps 13 hours a night where as ds2 doesn’t have hollow eyes and is a horrendous sleeper. 😂 I think it must be genetic sometimes.

I’ve found using fake tan helps hide the dark circles as I’m so pale. For under eye makeup, I recently started using the L’Oréal glotion mixed with a tiny bit of maybelline fit me concealer, and spraying with L’Oréal 3 second setting spray. It works quite well as if I put regular concealer/setting powder it gets in all of the fine lines and looks horrendous! Shame I can’t be bothered to put makeup on most days haha.

I will try with the nighttime moisturiser. 😊
