Broken hair!

I’m so sick of my hair breaking off All the time. My hair texture has changed to dry wore broken hair, it iaed to be soft and thick. Now it’s thinned out terribly. It’s embarrassing as it’s sticking up everywhere . Could this be perimenopause systems? I’m early 40’s. I use k18 and moisture products but my hairs just completely changed since august last year.

Grey hair I suspect. Do you use any hot appliances on it. Do you have any vitamin deficiency

A couple of things that have really helped me is getting a Brazilian blowdry every 12 weeks, this gets rid of all frizz meaning I don’t have to use any heat at all.
I got my hair dyed to match my root so don’t need to keep re dying.
Biotin vitamins.

I tell you what I did. Stopped blow drying and straightening (unless going out, a nicer occasion) so my hair is blonde (coloured) , I never used to wear it down as it was thick at the top and all broken off and shapeless at the bottom. So what I do now is wash it, condition it and pull it in a ponytail. Then I plait it in a singular plait at the back and coil it up and hold it with another non snag hair tie. I then blow dry and straighten my fringe only. I'll do this nearly everyday. (Well not the wash bit ) My god it's made a difference to my hair , it's now thick and no fly aways from root to tip when I do style it ! I probably only straighten my whole head of hair once to twice per month. Previously it was daily !

Short answer, from experience: I think it's heat damage

My hair is similar. It’s very fine anyway, but highlights, heat damage and getting tangled on windy days make it like that. I now try and wash it less often, use very little heat, tie it up on windy days, and put in a leave in conditioner which smooths it down and makes the broken bits less noticeable.

I haven’t straightened my hair in years, I do hair dryer it sometimes if I’m using the colour wow cocktail for damage. My ferritin was low last year and gone up a bit now. My hair all changed last year and now it’s frizzy dry and I’ve lost half my hair it’s so thin. I don’t know if it’s stress/ perimenopause

My ferritin was low last year, it’s up to 38 now but that’s classed as low still.
