(Possibly wrong section sorry!) Unisex going home outfit for baby in August?

Baby is due in August and we aren't finding out the sex so am unsure what to take for a going home outfit - the main problem is how much they should wear really rather than the unisex part. I did think just a bodysuit but it seems very bare? Thanks so much

If it's very warm a just a sleepsuit should be fine. Take a blanket just in case it's a bit chilly.

I brought mine (july and very hot May) home in wee soft sleep suit and light cotton cardi and hat

will be hunting it out and doing the same again this time round

LadyOfWaffle · 14/05/2008 18:37

Wow, that much?

yes, dd1 had a fellcy snow suit on stand by - we're north of scotland and being cosey very important to me lol

it was all light cotton stuff and the snow suit never god used funnily enough

schneebly · 14/05/2008 18:38

I brought my August-born DS1 home in a white sleepsuit with matching cotton jacket and hat.

dizzydixies · 14/05/2008 18:39

hurrah for schneebly - don't feel so much like a baby smotherer now

LadyOfWaffle · 14/05/2008 18:41

Lol - sorry Dizzy! I guess I'll stick with the hospital sleepsuits and just buy a thin cardigan and hat. I was even going to substitute the sleepsuits and body suits with vest type body suits - my baby would have been the nakedest baby there!

LofW, I come from a family where if you dress a child in anything less than vest, sleepsuit, cardigan, hat, mittens and a blanket then its paramount to child abuse

I have previously accused my aunt of trying to give dd1 thrush once before when I saw how many layers she came home in

and this is all REGARDLESS of season
