my skin is flaking off"""

A month or so ago, I asked for advice as my skin had become very dry

I bought boots own moisturiser for rehydrating skin and aldi night cream (which has excellent reviews and I like)
I am using a boots facial wash for sensitive skin - it doesnt feel at all drying

but the skin on my cheeks is flaky - if I wear make up I look a bit 'scaly' even with plenty moisturiser

help!

suggestions must be budget ones

It's a cliche, but are you hydrated enough? I find that when I make the effort to drink enough water my skin is smooth and plump, but when not, it's dry and flaky. Also, do you eat enough stuff with good fats like salmon and seeds? They can make a big difference.

Perhaps a very gentle exfoliator to remove the dead cells would help - Boots Skin Kindly one is cheap and very mild.

probably not.......
will get drinking and buy cheap exfoliator as first point of call!
thanks

this may sound odd but has worked for me in the past when skin went haywire. Use olive oil as a cleanser, remove with a flannel soaked in hot water. It takes off make-up. Important to not use anything else as your skin may have become irritated by products you're currently using. Can't get cheaper than that! I invested in loads of cotton flannels.
