Work shoes for plantar fasciitis

I am looking for some new black leather shoes - preferably loafers similar to the photo attached - to wear with trousers for work.

But - the shoes need to have arch support and have a wide fitting available. I love Fit Flops but their loafers are a narrow fit according to their website, and ballerina flats are not suitable for PF. I like the look of these Vionic loafers but their prices are eye-watering - I’m looking to pay about £70.

I’ve looked at Vinted but I’m not willing to pay £££ for shoes that may not fit (learnt from experience) and I can’t send back.

I have plantar fasciitis in both feet intermittently for a decade. I’ve had custom made orthotics twice plus tried more from a pharmacy, all of which have been either useless or caused even more pain), so it’s not as simple as just getting orthotics and then wearing any shoes.

I get my shoes from Clark’s, as I don’t want PF coming back again.

Unfortunately I don’t find Clark’s provide the arch support that I need, and I’m going to be putting get another pair of shoes on Vinted that cause me pain!

I just got orthotic insoles for mine from Amazon. I do sympathise though. I think not much really helps with PF, it just seems to come and go on its own.
Losing weight seemed to help mine and weirdly enough wearing totally flat shoes! 😕

You can buy vionic insoles on their website. Would that be an option in a cheaper shoe? I have done this before and it’s worked quite well. On the other hand I did get some vionic shoes, and couldn’t really afford them but they are so good

Yes I use insoles and you can transfer between shoes.

Just get some decent insoles for PF and you can wear any shoes. I had mine moulded to my.feet in Shuropdy. It cost about 80 quid. I'm not sure if it's a rip off and the off the shelf ones do the same job but mine have worked well.

Foot exercises helped me. It was the only thing.

Rotate foot clockwise and anti clockwise daily say 6 times each direction. Also point foot towards you a few times keeping foot in normal position first. Hold each time say four seconds.

I also live in trainers.

Sketchers do work type shoes as well as trainers. DS has them for school

My late sister was a podiatrist. Her recommendation was to avoid flat shoes at all costs. Use insert, I buy the gel inserts that you can stick into the arch to add extra support.
During the winter I wear boots, ankle, that have a minimum heal height of 1”. I wear Fitflops or similar in the summer. At work I can wear crocs which are actually the most comfortable when pf is playing up. Dog walking shoes have a prescription insole. I also use crocs at home instead of slippers.
I love flat shoes but try not to walk any distance in them.

Shoe brands such as Joya, Finn Comfort, Hoka are good for P.F. but I can't see anything similar to the loafers you've posted. Vionic is possibly the only brand where you will find something similar. They often come up on eBay/ Tk Maxx. I now have custom insoles & find the arch support inaccurate for my foot in Vionic insoles.

Have you gone to a podiatrist with specialist training in foot issues? I faffed about with a useless guy before finding someone excellent. Intensive shock wave, taping & customised insoles all helped my severely ruptured ligament.

Secondly Oofos shoes worn as slippers at home plus Joya trainers really helped heal my foot.

I also use orthotic insoles - and another vote for Oofos worn as slippers around the house. They really have made a massive difference, not just to pf but with issues I was having with my achilles. .
