Ha! I am all groomed after my spa day...

I have:

lovely mani and pedi (translucent pinky white on hands; corally red on feet)
wonderfully unknotted shoulders
glowing face

Last week I removed all lip and toe fluff, spare eyebrow bits, had a haircut and colour...

I have never been so groomed in all my life. It will last till tomorrow morning when I will return to my yoghurt encrusted state.

And I have even bought new clothes (mad Monsoon silk hippy dress and summer cardis from there).

Spa stuff: man it's good.

They act all nonchalant as if you aren't nearly the most stretchmarked, blubbery person they have ever seen at all. They bring you iced limed water. They lower the lights and touch you all over.

And sometimes (and I had to stop myself from snorting when I had this thought on the massage table) they do mysterious things.

They might as well be stroking my face with toast and delicately pressing my cheekbones in an odd way with baby garlic courgettes for all I know: you just end up in some kind of altered state and they can use the tip of their nose and you'd be none the wiser.

I especially love the spritzing into the air ('no, I'm down here!') and the ringing of the mini hippy cymbal. I'm much better for a little ringing, thanks.

Ahhh spa days, you can't beat them Was in a cocktail bar on my birthday after my last spa day and some guy asked where I had been on holiday I looked so refreshed
