Your hair is so similar to mine. I use umberto gianni curl jelly. Scrunch in when wet and diffuse. I pineapple at night and then refresh in the morning b spraying a bit of water and a little gel on. Wash every other day as it looks a mess otherwise. I don’t brush or comb other than when I wash it. Otherwise disaster.

This is exactly what I was going to say. I mix a little curl cream and a lot of the curl jelly. Do not touch it while it's drying, scrunch once it's dry. I don't diffuse because I want looser curls so I either let it dry naturally or use my hairdryer with higher heat but a lower speed so it doesn't disrupt the curls.

Yeah you could straighten then curl but that's going to take a lot longer

My hair is like the photo provided (wasn’t she on taskmaster?) and it’s not straightened and then curled, just the method I posted above, ie leave to dry with curl cream. It it very thick though and takes ages to dry.

I didn't watch Taskmaster, but she's on House of Games this week.

Thank you.

My curl type and texture is more extreme than yours so over the years i've experimented with every major brand and fad out there.

Most of the curly hair designated products make my hair worse. John Frieda, Aussie and even the Shea products are all terrible for me.

You obviously know to condition your hair once washed but I suggest Garnier Hair Food (Banana or Coconut) as a leave in conditioner. Apply it when hair is damp, brush through with a soft bristled brush to smooth and pull oils down the hair shaft and then add a little moose or hair gel and diffuse. Use scrunching for better curls or for wavier, looser curls, only take your hair in one big hold and push to scalp to relax the hold the products will have. This will leave wavy curls.

You can also do heatless curl over night and brush out the results but again, add that leave in conditioner.

The Hair Food product not only holds the shape of your curls without the crunchy cast of gel or mousse but it hydrates and prevents frizz.

I've used the banana conditioner before so will look out for the hair food one, thanks.

About how much of the banana hair food do you use as a leave in?

I think you need to visit the umberto gianini website and take the hair quiz. I’m trying the products and they actually work! I’ve spent a fortune over the years on hair lotions and they don’t actually work. So far very impressed with this brand. It’s specifically for curly hair

The photo is of Sarah Kendall, an Australian comedian whose hair I have also admired!

As others have said, she has naturally thick and wavy hair, but her current style is quite styled rather than natural. If you google image search her, you can see his photo from when she was younger and appearing at the Edinburgh festival, which probably gives you a better idea of what her hair looks like au naturel…

I have a wavy hair shampoo that helps

My hair is similar to the photo lady. It's extremely dense but it's also extremely coarse in which is what makes it look so big. Also a low hairline so there's lots at the front which makes it look thicker still.

However I have to use a truckload of products to make it socially acceptable. If I want it to look like photo lady, I'd need to apply products and then stay indoors not touching it for a whole day whilst it dried. Not exaggerating! If I apply products and diffuse I can get it dry in a couple of hours but then it's much wavier / curlier but in an unpredictable pattern.

Your hair is beautiful OP. I'd love to have a more defined curl pattern like you.
