Brands recs for very slim teenage DD

DD is 14 and about 5 foot 3 or probably a bit taller, she's growing fast! We are having trouble trying to find clothes to fit her, especially jeans. She has grown out of kids ranges that she used to shop at like H&M/Zara/New Look etc height wise, but due to her waist being around 20 inches she still needs an elasticated waist or jeans that are about that size waist. Tried Uniqlo as they have a 22 inch waist but still too big and falls off her.
She is down to one pair of jeans now brought from Zara recently in the kids range as it has an elasticated waist.
She doesn't want to wear dresses anymore and won't wear leggings either (which are too big around her waist anyway).

Has anyone found any brands that might cater for this body size? Thanks

For my slim and tall kids, Name It and their teen range LMTD trousers work. Slimmer than average and also adjustable. They go up to sizes 164 cm and 176 cm respectively.

Just looked at my DD’s trousers - she’s a bit taller and is wearing Primark elasticated waist cargos 2XS, H&M EUR 36 jeans with a belt (I think a UK 8, they come up narrow), Decathlon 14-15 unisex joggers with drawstring, Hollister XS long trackies.

Another vote for Hollister here, my 14 yearold is 1.72 and very thin, so far everything from there has worked. Brandi Melville too but I hate shopping there.

ClippyMuldoon · 17/03/2025 11:35

Sorry missed the sizes...tops at Hollister she is an XXS and jeans either size 34 ior waist 24. They do different leg lengths which is handy. If the US sizing then 00.

Thanks so much for the recommendations and tips. Didn't think of some of these brands like Hollister and Name It. Will have a look. It's expensive having a teenage DD!

Surely its cheaper to just get her a nice belt?

Lovecatsanddogs · 18/03/2025 13:05

Suite Benedict is an italian brand which ships to Uk. Clothes are very petite.

My DS is 99th percentile for height but 50th for weight, he looks utterly ridiculous in regular trousers all bunched up with belt. Try to imagine someone size 10 wearing size 16 trousers.

My dd is 5ft 10 but very slim. Marks tall range of jeans fit her perfectly in a size 6 or 8. They do lots of trendy styles so she doesn't mind them. She also has a few pairs from h&m but did need to search around for the smaller sizes.

verysmellyjelly · 18/03/2025 14:05

Has she tried Brandy Melville?

Wetcappuccino · 18/03/2025 14:54

La Redoute was always good for my tall, skinny daughter.

passmethebiscuit · 18/03/2025 14:57

Mango Teen
Brady Melville
Primark 2X

ASOS have a fair few brands/styles in 2XS, which is a UK4.

SallyDraperGetInHere · 18/03/2025 15:04

My very slender daughter uses some Instagram hack with a shoelace to hold her trousers up!

BillyILash · 18/03/2025 15:12

Shein is the only place I’ve found that fits 13yo DD, also skinny and shooting up. She’s been happy with all the jeans and tracksuit bottoms I’ve bought her recently.

TianasBayou · 18/03/2025 16:03

Hollister is my DD’s go to. As an added bonus the XXS and XS sizes are often in the sales. Also Zara (although sizing is inconsistent).

Lovecatsanddogs · 22/01/2026 13:50

Suite Benedict it is from Italy they ship here.

mcmuffin22 · 22/01/2026 14:26

Dd is tall and I get her a sz 4 or 6 in H&M jeans and they fit well. She always wears a belt as well as jeans tend to loosen off as you wear them.
