New hairdresser?

I’ve had a regular hairdresser for many years. She’s always done a good job on my hair. But I’m now after years of root touch ups I’m wanting to try the grey blending technique. The last few appointments I’ve tried to explain what I’ve wanted and she done some highlights and root touch ups but the outcome isn’t quite what I’m looking for.
I’ve found a hairdresser that specialises in colour and the grey blending technique. My dilemma is I really want to try the new hairdresser but feel awful just thinking about changing hairdressers.
Any advice would be fantastic

Could you just go for a cut at your usual place? Say that you can’t afford colour? Or you are just going to grow out your grey.

You are the customer though and if you’re not getting what you want then you have every right took elsewhere.

Thank you. My goal is to have the grey blending done so I can eventually grow out the grey more naturally, well that’s the hope anyway.
I did think of seeing one hairdresser for a cut and another for the colour but the hairdresser that cuts my hair would definitely notice I’ve had it coloured elsewhere.

I have a very expensive hairdresser who cuts my hair and I have simply told him I can’t afford to have my colour done there as well. You aren’t friends with them - you are a client and you are entitled to have the colour done elsewhere.

Thank you. Yeah I completely understand that just feel bad to change after so long. I may get my colour done at the new one and continue the cut with my current hair dresser
