Clothing brands for a petite mid 40's woman

Hello Ladies, I need some help!!

Can anyone recommend any fashionable brands for a 5'0 tall, slim 45 year old lady!! I feel I desperately need some inspiration!!

I feel shop like Asos/Boohoo/Hollister are all way to young for me now, but when I look in The White Stuff or Joules, they seem a little frumpy & they don't do petite ranges.

I've recently discovered Sosander, which looks really good,(although I haven't purchased anything yet) Can anyone else recommend anything similar? 🙏

Similar age and style, I like nobody’s child and reiss.

I have to pay to get everything taken up, it's so annoying. There are hardly any shops where you can try on petite length trousers or jeans now, I hate the hassle of returning online clothes! So am following....!

Massimo Dutti, Cos, Arket, Everlane

Don’t discount children’s clothes shops! Obviously a lot is ‘childish’, but for things like jeans, shirts, casual skirts etc they can be great. Gap Kids usually have some nice things in. Otherwise Seasalt do some lovely petite things (and some frumpy things, I find it varies wildly season to season!) Worth checking the reviews for comments on fit. The smallest size they do is waist 26 I think, so not that small, but a lot of their clothes are designed to be worn loose and flowy, or can be belted to give shape.

It’s hard to get petite that is good quality but doesn’t look frumpy. Phase eight makes me weep😂. My seventy year old, five foot mother dresses in it head to toe.

I go with plain, classic clothes so find reiss, whistles, Boden (just for trousers!) and marks and Spencer’s work fro me.

I just bought a beautiful coat from Hobbs - again it’s good for quality classic clothes but you need to be careful as it can be older styling.

I pair classic basics with some more on trend items - usually trainers and shoes to make them more youthful.

I have found not buying clothes with prints works best for me.

Same height and slightly 10 years older 😁

I have discovered Uniqlo. Quality fabrics and easy style that is not too young or frumpy/dated. Great basics which are easy to accessorise Their size XS fits perfectly but might have to take up the length on trousers.

Boden (they now have size 4 on certain dresses), New Look, Mango.

@Bellyblueboy I could have described your post in terms of style. My middle-aged self avoids prints and goes for plain classic clothes which I make younger with shoes and accessories.

I am finding the current cropped jackets very helpful for my short body.
