I have awful undereyes bags - I don’t know where to start ! I would like a simple make up routine that doesn’t take long to put on but that does the job !

picture of my bags !

The second picture doesn't show any bags?
I would echo pp and use a tinted moisturiser or CC cream
I use Bare Minerals and it gives a light evening effect and has SPF
I've never worn eyeshadow just some lovely pink blush and eyeliner and Mac Velvet Teddy lipstick for a natural day time look
I don't bother with mascara any more but I curl my lashes and use brow gel now my gorgeous thick eyebrows (that I used to hate and cry about) have mostly fallen out

Code Beautiful might be an easy place to start. If you find them on Facebook they have videos showing how to use the products and you can save by buying as kits.

I like their FFL Forget False Lashes as a mascara primer but I also use it on brows as find their brow gel a little dark for me. Their undereye concealer is nice and can be used anywhere you have redness and blends easily.
Their mascara is ok but my favourite is usually a cheap Primark one.
Not tried but they do a cheek/lip tint and lip liners too.

I used to wear a full face of makeup but have scaled back as I've got older (45) to a less is more approach. I do love Laura Geller Balance and Brighten powder foundation for a healthy glow which evens my skin tone. Totally rate the LG blush too. I tend to buy as kits from QVC for value and 30 day money back guarantee so if you don't like it just send it back no matter how much you've used.

I don't think those are bags, they're more the shape of your eye. I'm not brilliant with skincare but my friend who is, told me to use vitamin c serum to brighten my skin. I would say you need that and something like touche éclat for the dark circles.

springbabydays · 14/03/2025 12:43

What is cc cream please? I've recently stopped wearing foundation and am looking for alternatives. Similar age to OP.

Cream makeup is your friend. I find Liquid makeup goes too cakey on mature skin and powder tends to settle in creases.

as said above less is defo more as we age and I use a combo of highlighter, contour, bronzer, blush and concealer. I don’t use foundation at all as it gives a ‘mask’ look.

I use seint makeup but from the UK I have some trinny London makeup which is excellent. You only need a bit so it lasts ages. Her miracle blur and the serum is good.

for inspiration I follow Lauren hale on Instagram and have recommended her a few times (I promise I’m not mates with her) she give excellent advice xx

I’m a similar age and I go through phases of wearing makeup and not wearing makeup. I am generally not one of those people who effortlessly looks ‘put together’. Anyway my recommendation is to go and do a makeup lesson at a makeup brand. I did bobbi brown before and recently did Charlotte tilbury. I asked for a quick 5 minute morning routine and then how I could then make a little bit more effort for evenings. It was super helpful. You don’t have to buy all the products (I spent a fortune) and if you go somewhere like Sephora if you have one they use lots of different brands rather than just one. Anyway, the other key things I’ve realised is my skin itself needs more looking after. I’ve always been lucky in my skin was fine with a bit of spf and whatever cheap moisturiser I picked up from the supermarket. But it’s changed a lot in permimenopause and now I try to look after it a bit more. Again Charlotte tilbury upsold me on their magic serum and moisturiser which I use every morning and then I use skin and me (prescription skin care) and a regular moisturiser in the evening. Once I’ve run out I’ll try something cheaper but I do think the serum is making a difference and my skin looks brighter again. And once a week I do a sheet facemask and my skin looks amazing for about 30 minutes 🤣🤣🤣
