Help me find this dress please

My beautiful big sister passed away last week and I saw this dress on Dawn French’s instagram today that perfectly fulfils both the vibe of the funeral (splash of colour) and my requirements for shape/style.
i have reached out to Dawn, the stylist on the Delicious series, a couple of TV/Film contacts I have, and my most tenacious fashion bestie. All to no avail so far! Does anyone recognise the brand/designer?? Or have a lead as to where I can find out other that what I’ve already tried?! All helpful leads gratefully received 🤞🏻

Neither can I. It did occur to me that it must be a very old photo, as French hasn't looked like this for years.

Pity - it's a great dress and seems to fit your brief exactly. I'm very sorry about your mum. You deserve to feel nice about what you're wearing on the day, so I do hope you find something.

Found it - the picture, not the dress, I'm afraid! It's from 2019. Loads of people asked her where she got it but she was keeping schtum.

Thanks for all your efforts, my search had thrown up similar to these, but they are just not quite right. I fear it’s even earlier than that as the series was 2016! The long sleeve and dress length along with the lovely contrast are what makes it perfect in my opinion. Ah well, back to the Vinted/Depop hunt.

Didn’t/doesn’t Dawn French have her own fashion line? Could it be from that?

I still have some Sixteen47 clothes, technically vintage now. The designer was Helen Teague. She seems to have completely disappeared.

I tried searching on just the colour stripes and it came up with this:

It's obviously a different dress but the colours of the stripes look identical to me. As I'm sure you know, designers will often have similar coloured pieces in a seasons collection so I wonder if it is a Gucci dress?

About 5-10 years ago, Boden did a lot of stuff in that kind of style - plain dress, bit tunicky style, with bright ribbon stripes around the edges. They also incorporated bright stripes around the edges into their knitwear and jersey.

They don't really have anything similar now (there's a ric rac beach dress, but it's not funeral-y, even with a pop of colour), but might be worth searching preloved sites.

Hi, other posters are quite right, Dawn ran her own range of clothes. She also did a range for Evans. It might be worth asking google putting in a description. If it is an absolute must you could see if you contact Dawn herself. I must admit some of the dresses that people have found look lovely I was sorry to hear about your sister and send you hugs. You are in my thoughts as it must be so sad . Have you considered taking a picture to a dress maker. I am impressed with the people who do the google searches and find similar clothes. I will have to find out how to do that. If it is Anna Scholz you might find it on eBay or Vinted as she was closing her business. I know it is not quite what you wanted but have you considered looking for a scarf in the same colours and wear a black dress.?

If it is an absolute must you could see if you contact Dawn herself.
