2 weeks to glow-up for my wedding (happy to splurge)

Hi all,

I'm getting married in two weeks and I'm currently feeling a bit rubbish about my appearance. A nasty bout of flu and the wedding stress means I currently feel drained, puffy and grey, rather than glowing! I want to really focus on self care over the next couple of weeks, and I'm looking to treat myself to some new products to help with this.

My skin is a bit congested (I appreciate it's probably too late to significantly change this), my eyes are puffy and body-wise the skin on my legs is dry and in need of exfoliation. If anyone has any product recommendations to help me feel healthy, happy and glowing over the next couple of weeks please share them. I'm happy to splurge!

I wouldn’t try anything too potent, as quite often skin can get worse before it gets better.

Keep it simple, 2/3litres of water a day, light moisturiser, oil your cuticles daily.

Agree with this. Have you got a good make up person/or are confident with doing your own makeup? Apart from that I’d just drink water and moisturise.

Teeth whitening?

Eyelash lift and eyebrow shaping and tint?

Get a facial now, but stick to known products after that.

Lots of water and vegetables until the wedding

Rainbow9787 · 08/03/2025 12:54

plenty of water & as much rest as possible
product wise

  • sanctuary spa body scrub for your dry skin
  • cerave salicylic acid cleanser for a good face wash
  • sanctuary spa body lotions are brilliant for dry skin, as is Nivea q10
  • light moisturiser on the face, I love REN skin products, there evecalm balm is great

I agree with this, nothing drastic!

Could you fit in a spa day (although this could break you out if you have congested skin so not too close to the wedding)? Sauna and steam room for your circulation and general relaxation with maybe a salt exfoliation for body?

Other than that, sleep, water, exercise and a clean diet, avoiding sugar and caffeine.

Wishona · 08/03/2025 12:57

I agree a spa day or sauna would be good.
Moisturise every night.
Book a light spray tan 3 days before.
Manicure and Pedicure 2 days before.

CerealPosterHere · 08/03/2025 12:57

For your legs the l’occitaine almond shower oil would be good.

CortadoPlease · 08/03/2025 13:21

Cutting out white carbs and minimal other carbs will help with puffiness. Wishing you the best 😊

Yup I will have someone great doing my makeup for the wedding so its about me feeling better in myself rather than make up for the day if that makes sense!

A spa day is a great suggestion- we have a some free days before the wedding so I'll see if theres one nearby!

I’d go to a spa (sooner rather than later in case the steam brings out any spots), have an exfoliating treatment and a good facial.

A good spray tan (have a trial run first) and maybe eyelash and brow treatment too to lift your face a little.

Lots of water, no alcohol try and get good sleep. Book ASAP ( so not too close to the wedding) and environ facial. They are great at getting your skin to glow. Exfoliate and moisture the Sol de janeiro products are good and smell divine. You could go for a massage to help you relax

Ophy83 · 08/03/2025 16:29

If you can fit one in, get a facial this week. If you leave it closer to the wedding then get one for sensitive skin to avoid the risk of a reaction.

Add a couple of tanning glow drops to your night time face moisturiser to give skin a bit of a boost without turning you too orange

A gadget I've not tried yet but keep seeing recommended (it would be a big splurge!) is a Ziip halo

Sali Hughes says it is good and her recommendations are generally excellent

Oooh I've always wanted to try Sol de janeiro so I'll use this as an excuse!

You could try having a spa day - not only the treatments but the whole day relaxing might do wonders for stress levels etc. If you don't have time or can't get in somewhere then popping to a salon for spa treatments to do at home or a website that sends self care treats like https://lovelylittleboxshop.com could be an option?

If you can afford it look at a combo of BBL (laser treatment) and Moxi. Skin would be glowing within a week- 10 days.

Doesn’t your skin flake off after a moxi treatment?

I think I'm going to book a massage at a salon near me and buy a luxurious body scrub & lotion for home to use over the next couple of weeks!

From personal experience (lol) steer clear of any waxing close to the day and I'd say also anything peeling but have a fantastic wedding :)
