Functional but stylish backpack

I can't seem to find a functional but stylish backpack, suitable for lugging around all the rubbish that a 3 and 6 year old need for a day trip. Right now I'm still using their change bag, which I hated when I was given it and is in pretty shabby condition now.
I'd ideally like it to be weatherproof or leather, and able to carry more than you'd think. Crucially is that it needs to have decent straps - so many bags have thin, narrow little straps which are useless if you're racing around museums with it on your back all day. The final thing is it can't be is floral / brightly printed animals etc... I can't stand brands like Cath Kidson - it really isn't me at all.
We're coming up to Easter and we'll be taking day trips quite a bit, and my youngest isn't really using a pram now I'll be carrying everything on sweaty tubes. Any recommendations most welcome. Thanks

DS had a school bag when he started secondary that sounds like it would suit. It was leather, The North Face brand, black. Discrete logo. It lasted nearly five years (ok, some of this was during Covid so it wasn’t used daily then).

I can’t find it, sorry, it looks like it’s not made anymore.

The "stylish" bit is tricky! Getting one large enough to hold everything that looks good seems impossible. I've been looking at "tote packs" and like the Osprey and Brakeburn, plus the Roka bags, but as soon as something looks comfortable and large enough I can't honestly say it looks stylish!

Longchamp Le Pilage do fabulous backpacks, not cheap but worth it.

I love my Antler Essential Backpack. Wasn't cheap but is lightweight and spacious with proper straps, good balance, and tons of room.

Osprey and Patagonia are great too but I needed something not at all outdoorsy.

I have a Roka pack for work but it is not really weatherproof - very light drizzle is fine but if its actually raining it doesn't hold up.
There's clearly a gap in the market for a cool looking, really useful back pack. Maybe with matching snack pots and a fully waterproof wet bag for accidents. Might be my million dollar idea!!

Thanks, that sounds pretty perfect. Will take a look

That sounds perfect, though also like it's been discontinued. My search continues!
