Milia - how to get rid?

I’ve had it for several weeks now and tried to take it off myself, without any luck. How do I get rid of it?

I use a (brand new and wiped with an alcohol wipe) Stanley blade to make a small nick and then squeeze it out with the tweezers in a pincer movement. Hurts like hell. I’ve done it a couple of times now.

I tried that but it just bled, couldn’t get the bugger out!

Some beauticians and dermatologists will do milia removal.

I used a glycolic acid toner - wiped on with a cotton wool pad on milia under my eye. It had been there for about a year, and it was gone in under a week!

Please share which toner you used, I currently have 3 milia spots driving me mad

I used the Ren Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic, but I'm sure any one would do the trick. Good luck!

I poke them out with a sterilised needle.

Depends where they are. If on the soft skin close to your eyes then regular exfoliation is your only option and it may take a while.

Elsewhere, you can try a needle but it would be better to get a professional extraction. I personally tend to stick with regular exfoliation to get it as near to the surface as possible, and eventually it will work its way to the top where you can remove it sensibly. If you go in too hard you risk infection or scarring.

(This is the advice I've previously had from my mum, a beauty therapist.)

Prick sideways with a sterilised needle and squeeze. If it doesn't come out easily, a small scan will form and it may lift out when the scab falls off.
