Is that a thing?

A quick google suggests that most policies would only cover up to £1000 per item, but I don't really want to call and a) spend ages on the phone and b) look like a fool if it's not a thing, so thought I'd see what others do here first.

I do! It's not taken me too long as I normally just update it when I do my renewal, but I have phoned up a few times before and I think it took about 20 minutes! Worth it to not be risking all my well spent cash 😂

I have rings, jewellery, watches, phones and handbags all insured. I normally get the quote over the phone, then send photos + proof of cost (like receipt / valuation) then it's accepted and added onto my premium.

That's really helpful, thank you. Can I ask if you only do it if over £1000?

My policy states things have to be added individually if they’re worth over 3k (euro, I’m in Ireland). I have various jewellery items listed, they require a valuation and then they’re added.

@aperolspritzbasicbitch my insurance asks for individual items over £1000 to be itemised, so I definitely make sure I do for those items! Tbh if I'm buying jewellery / handbags / watches they're normally over that threshold, although I have a few items that aren't and I think they're covered under my general insurance!
