Recommendations for natural body creams for very dry skin

I'm looking for non toxic natural body cream for very dry skin. I'm ideally looking for non fragrance creams with as little of non harmful chemicals as possible.
I've looked at a few but hearing that other people recommend and their thoughts on the products would be great!

Thank you!

Weleda Skin Food is excellent. It comes as a cream and a thicker body cream and I think an oil too.

Try pure almond oil, from Holland and Barratt (or anywhere, really) very cheap.

Also you can buy a massive bag of solid shea butter, (also very cheap). It melts at body temp and makes a great moisturiser, but is quite thick.

Coconut oil or almond oil work well for dry skin. 😀

Aveeno

This was my favourite but I've seen it's got alot of chemicals in that aren't great

I do have this but the smell is a bit over powering and again has parfum in which I'm trying to avoid

Would you be interested in making your own? At least then you know what's in it! Lots of recipes online, but one that's worked well for me before is equal parts of shea butter, cocoa butter, almond oil and coconut oil. Or using even less ingredients you could mix shea butter with any liquid oil.

I used Neal's Yard butters, but it is fragranced - gorgeous natural ones.

I know some of their products are a bit nuts but can I recommend Lush Dream Cream? It's really gentle and is the only thing I can use on my sore winter hands.

I use the Revolution Beauty 5 Ceramide lotion (it’s the vegan/non animal tested dupe for CeraVe) but in coming to add a link I think it may be discontinued so I am following with interest!

Also going to stock up while it still seems to be available on some sites.

Download the YUKA app (it’s free) and scan potentials. It gives you a rating based on chemicals/ingredients. I’ve had a few surprised, for instance Body Shop Butter comes out at poor due to additives. You can also see a breakdown of the ingredients and whether they’re harmful. It does food, too, and as well as additives looks at calories, sodium and fat. I ended up subscribing (think it was about 15 quid so I can search items without scanning barcode.

Just use beef tallow

WhereAreWeNow · 02/03/2025 09:29

I think Weleda do an unscented body lotion too. Or try just pure almond or coconut oil.

MrsJoanDanvers · 02/03/2025 10:52

I like Lush Dream Cream.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 02/03/2025 11:07

I've just started using Naydaya body oil and body cream, which is unscented. I've just finished chemo, and my skin really suffered. I've not had any reaction to them, and they feel nourishing. I prefer the oil to the body 'cream' to be honest.
