Chin skin

I’m somewhere North of 60, and up until now, haven’t really noticed any signs of wrinkles or ageing in my face.
Recently, I’ve developed some wrinkles around the corners of my mouth, and the skin on the lower part of my face has started to look a little lumpy and open-pored.
My skincare regime has been working really well apart from this - does anyone have any tips on how to improve the firmness and texture of a targeted area of skin?
I currently use a scar reduction cream (which has done wonders for teenage acne scars from years ago, over the past 5 years), Vitamin C oil (day) and Retinol Oil (night) followed by No. 7 serum and day cream, and retinol cream overnight.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I am very lucky. I cannot see my chin skin for my beard. I am female!!!

I think you need to consider some tweakment like microneedling, which is used for scars and other small imperfections, or even a very light touch of filler for the wrinkles at the corner of your mouth.

Only go to a qualified doctor/ dentist and not a beautician.

The going rate for these is around £400 a treatment but there are so many dud practitioners around you get what you pay for.

Watching with interest. Just approaching 60 I have recently noticed large ish pores around my chin area, little lines above my top lip but even more annoying the bastard chin hairs (one is ingrown and has left a scar).

Replace your retinol with retinoid - the same type of ingredient but stronger and more effective. This is the most you can do with cream. Anything more you want to do will require a procedure(s), but retinoid is highly effective and I recommend trying.

42 and the only thing that's improved my fine lines, texture and pigmentation visibly is tretinoin. Retinol is ok but they return almost immediately if you don't use it consistently. Tret is a retinoid, so just a stronger version and more lasting.

It's strengths are 0.025%, 0.05% and 0.1%. If you order it from Monderma or Skin+Me, you can add your other usual ingredients in with it eg niacinamide. Try microneedling too.

And often costs less!

Retinoid cream bought - I’ll report back in a month!

Which retinoid and what strength is it? In either case remember to moisturise with it and you shouldn't peel much, if at all.
