I need a new one - I have about 10 which have dried out are clumpy etc so am going to dump the lot and get a new one.

What's your repeat buy and why? Should I go Lancome aren't they the best?

Been looking at reviews and youtube etc but there is just too much choice.

I agree with the previous poster, one product doesnt suit all. I've tried some of the Mega/Max volume products mentioned above, but on my 56 year old poker straight blonde lashes, they look ridiculous.

I used to love Lancome Hypnose until I tried Benefit Roller Lash....OMG it's amazing and lasts so long both on lashes and in the tube!

I bought this today on the back of reading good reviews, haven’t tried it yet though.

Mine's coming fro Amazon tomorrow! ☺️

So have tried the L'Oréal Paradise Big Deal and really like it for quite natural lashes, doesn't smudge or run and, best of all, it comes off really easily👌

Maybelline Great Lash. Pink & green bottle. I go back to it every time.

Exactly this - it is so reliable, there’s a reason why it has been in the market for decades while others come and go

Two faced better than sex. No clumps, no smudges, cruelty free

Jesus no! This was recommended me to by the staff at Sephora when it first came out and it’s the worst mascara I’ve ever used in my life. Seriously. In the short walk (10 mins) from my hotel to a restaurant where my friend was holding his birthday party, it was down smudged everywhere. I was mortified. It went straight in the bin! Never had this problem with any other mascara in my life (and I’m 54 so I’ve tried a lot of different mascaras).

My current go-to is Victoria Beckham Vast Lash, but I also like Trish McEvoy and Hourglass.

Maybelline sky high in burgundy is my vote.
I've tried lancome idole, better then sex, shu umera, hour glass, no 7 tubing, eyeko and various others. I have short oily lashes and the Maybelline sky high is the only one I can wear all day without smudging and still looks good at the end of a day.
Also cleanses off easily unlike some of the others listed here.

I tried Maybelline Great Lash and Maybelline Sky High based on MN recommendations. I dislike both of them. Great Lash barely does anything ; it's a very light mascara and the bottle is so small. Maybelline Sky High is good at first but doesn't last. It stays on my lashes for about 3 hours and then disintegrates down my face. I will be going back to No7 tubing mascara I think.

Maybelline colossal. In the yellow tube. I've spent ridiculous amounts on posh ones with false promise, but always return to the yellow one.

Same here. Although I do also love Lancome Babydoll. But colossal is £13.

Lancôme Hypnose Drama. My DMum kept telling me it was still the best and I am really happy I went for it .
Tried so many different ones but am happy with this one now.

I think it’s the best too.

I've just bought the Elf XTNDR and I highly rate it - my lashes look so long!

MrsJoanDanvers · 12/03/2025 19:46

It depends on your lashes. As a sixty-something with fine, straight lashes, I’ve tried all the volumising ones and I look like those old women whose lashes stick together. But Lancôme Définicils is the business-has been out for years and never has an offer but it’s worth every penny. Lengthens and defines but doesn’t make them thick.
