Stylist in London/SE

Could you please recommend a stylist who will help me to make up my mind about shaving my head.
I am a 58 yo woman with very little hair left due to T2 diabetes. The chances of them growing back is very small.
I assume that I will eventually lose them all.
Styling options, I found so far, are for young faces. I think I may have to start tinting my eyebrows/eyelashes to have something happening on my face (to define it better). I wear rimless glasses. I may want to get frames. That's why I need a stylist. I am unable to decide on my own where to start.
I don't think I will get on with a wig, my head gets very hot with my postmenopause hot flushes I sometimes get. If there are support online or in-person groups I could join, please recommend them to me as well.
Hair is such overloaded social norm topic 🫥
I have ADHD and with that can't make up my mind. So stressfull!
I wfh and we never put cameras on during meetings & I never meet any clients.

I can't help you regarding the hair loss, but appreciate that it must be difficult.
How do you feel about experimenting with headwear or embracing your new look?
I know women who wear turbans or headscarves, and it looks great.

Could you look at videos on make up and experiment with an eyebrow pencil. There are all manner of products these days. Make-up counters could probably give you free advice, and I think some give lessons.

Hope someone comes along with better suggestions, but the main thing is for you to be happy and confident.

If you have good bone structure, you can look fantastic with very short or no hair.

I should really book an appointment with one of those counters. Debenhams was very good good for it. JL is my nearest option.
You are right! I need to investigate turbans!

I'm a bit disappointed that no one else has posted.
This sort of link might help.

You could also experiment with bandanas, ready made turbans, headwraps, buffs, do-tags, chiffon scarves etc.

Some religions and cultures cover their heads, and could be inpiration.

HouseAshamed · 19/02/2025 21:03

do-rags not do-tags.
You could look up 'tichel' and 'hijab' for inspiration. There are probably others.

There are also things like caps and hats. I quite like having my head covered.

With the camera on zoom meetings, put it on. 'You've got to be seen to be believed'. I work with people who cover their heads and it's never mentioned.
Just be presentable.
