If you can get your hands on it, Mebo cream is amazing. I doubt this will be gone by Sunday (it is a burn) but the cream will definitely help.

Huckleberries · 15/02/2025 10:57

mebo looks great but I doubt I can get any, thanks for the suggestion though

i have tea tree cream

I wonder how long it will take to go back to normal. Will have to try to cover it but that wont be easy

Ouch! Try la Roche posay cica baume, it is a wonder cream that heals everything and easy to get

Huckleberries · 15/02/2025 11:03

Thanks Big, i put Liz Earle cica cream on it last night, I'm imagining they are similar?

Aloe vera gel or vaseline with added aloe vera in the little tins is what springs to mind. And plenty sleep tonight.

myladyjane · 15/02/2025 12:31

Oh mate. I once did my own facial waxing in a rush and had the same issue. It was just before holiday and I was stressed and rushing around. I also left my brow tint on too long so I looked like Groucho Marx. It was a dark dark day and I may have cried.

I found sudocreme helpful but that's all I had to hand.

If I am honest it took quite a long time to go. The bit at the end of my tache quietened down enough after a couple of days that I could cover the worse up. The bit under my eyebrow where the skin is thinner took a couple of weeks to go properly.

It was just on one side too. The other side was fine so I had wonky burns. I am 100% you will not look as bad as I did. I am sure no one will actually notice so please don't worry and don't make it too sore by doing too much.

Huckleberries · 15/02/2025 12:36

Sounds like I'm best using what I have - I have a lot including sudocreme and aloe vera and then I should't fiddle too much

I don't think I was rushing but the wax was much stickier than usual. I should have realised that's bad! Never had any issues before.

thanks everyone. I keep looking at it but hopefully others won't!

If you’ve used tretinoin or a retinoid that might be why.

Aloe Vera and LRP Cica Plast help.

Then maybe get a new concealer and applicator so it’s very clean to cover it when you need to.

BlackSwan · 15/02/2025 12:39

Manuka honey. It is used for burns in hospital even.

GutsyGertrude · 15/02/2025 12:39

I've had this once! Are you using tret by any chance? The only time I had this that was why. It was at a salon and they're usually great there so don't think it was user error.

I had scabs under my eyebrows. It looked...not great.

No idea how to speed up the healing process I'm afraid, but I sympathise!

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream is good for healing. Lavender oil is also great- you can put a few drops into some plain moisturiser.

I've had exactly this issue before- in fact it started happening every time so now I use a small electric shaver rather than waxing.

Huckleberries · 15/02/2025 17:29

I don't use tret or anything that might have made it more sensitive.

it's put me off. I actually don't even know if "needs" doing. But no one will tell you the truth about that!
