Trainers / shoes for bunions

Grateful to hear if anyone has found shoes / trainers that support with bunions.

I had an appointment with podiatry this week and was told as well as bunions I have arthritis in my feet and need to change my shoes to try and minimize further damage. I normally wear pumps / superga and low heel angle boots to work. She advised none of these are good and recommended New Balance trainers. I bought some today and they just don't feel comfortable. oddly shaped but I need to get used to them.

Can anyone recommend any shoes that work well with bunions? Both casual and work options?

I have been buying from a brand called Ara shoes. I've found them to be really comfortable and don't hurt the bunions. I have trainers and boots from them.

I found new balance weird shaped too!

Like you, I have bunions and arthritis in toes.

I find that arch-support half insoles are very good; they force your arches to do a bit more of the load bearing, saving your toes.

You need shoes with a wide toe box. Some skechers and hi tec are good for this, but you'll have to try different styles.

Weight loss will help if you are overweight.

Vivaia shoes are a good work option, but they're not really that wide, so not suitable for everyone.

I have vionic and Skechers trainers (only some Skechers are wide enough) and I have merrell and timberland (men's) boots. I only stick to brands I know work very well for me now, I've gone through literally hundreds of pairs of shoes/trainers/boots over the years where they seem ok when you try them on but as soon as you wear them for a day, it's agony on the bunions.
